2.0VTEC 4WD?!?!?
i am surprised that this has not been mentioned anywere i can see...
what is stopping me from fitting the CRV gearbox as well as the CRV block?
and strenghtening the shafts/links/etc to have a 4wd 200HP car?
i guess price would put a pretty quick limit on that sort of thinking,
but that's only my cash limit...
has anyone here seen a 4wd honda hybrid?
eg the JDM 4WD EG civic ferio?
just curious!
t..
PS anyone know how to tell a low compression JDM B20B from a high compression JDM B20B???

well i have a d16z6 in my 4wd wagon. from what I have read, the crvs are hydraulicaly controlled in the 4wd, and it will overheat and shut off if used much. my wagon is a direct connection, and makes a big difference. I would like to know if the crv trans can be changed to alltime 4wd, then maybe I could get a B-series motor in my wagon. any other poeple know?

you say that the 4wd only works with the D series tranny? is it a direct drive constant system?
how strong could it be?
have you looked at the CRV tranny? is the clutch thingy external or internal?
do you think the (D series) system could be adapted to a non-civic honda?
thanks,

try this stock photo on for size. yea the civic wagon rt4wd has the d-series bellhousing. I have a lever on the top of the trans I can disengage the transfer case for towing(or better mileage) but other than that it is all time, it has a viscous joint in the driveshaft to allow for 3% slippage(to keep from breaking things). I've been told if you get over 200hp you will start breaking things. either the transfer case or the diff. I just looked under a crv the other day, and it looks like the same setup, just doesn't have the viscous joint. its a driveshaft all the way back. I am going to look into it further. that would be real slick to have a b16 in the wagon. its very awesome to take off on a wet road full thottle without spinning at all. I would like to put the system in a crx also. that would be cool.
