The 1999 Civic Si JDM B18c Project...
Well my friend just got an underage and got his license taken away for 3 months, so on the positive side, it was the perfect opportunity to do the swap!
The Plan:
Swap in a JDM GSR B18c Motor in replace of the stock B16a2 power plant.
Planned Mods:
Externals:
Skunk2 Pro Intake Mani
Skunk2 Throttle body-(changed to just port out Gsr TB)
Hondata IM Gasket
DC Sports 4-1 Header
Custom Exhaust w/ apexi N1 muffler and test pipe
INJEN CAI
Exedy Stage 1 clutch
Hondata S200/Neptune
Head:
Port and Polish
Skunk2 Camshaft Pro 2+
Skunk2 Valves
Skunk2 Dual Valve Springs and Retainers
Skunk2 Pro Series Camgears
Block:
JDM ITR P73 Pistons
After all the talk and planning, we finally got down to business
On September 08 2007, at 7:30 pm the long awaited swap began.
Here is the 1999 Civic Si sitting on the trailer right after its last breath of fresh air for awhile, on its way to the garage.
One last look at the good ole B16 in the Si...
added new pics!

If you ever get to deal with this guy in a transaction on this website, I back him 100 percent. I have had nothing but excellent communication with him since I inquired about buying his old motor even to current now that I purchased it. Great guy. Good luck on the build too bro!

First peek with the valve cover off
Camcover plates and cam holders removed...
Cams out, and then took out the head studs...
Head off the block, and block mount on the engine stand
Removed all the ValveSprings and Retainers
Took all the valves out as well
Some pics of the head ready for the P&P

just a quick question.
from the mod list above. how much did you spend?
I am thinking why don't you get the R engine which has a better tranny and things instead of getting skkunk2 IM, TB, valves, DC header, custom exhaust and P73 piston....etc
no offence just asking, its a nice built but are you gonna increase your compression? i see you will run Pro 2 cam

Re: (frozenb)
this gsr will have better stuff in it then the type r when its done. plus the price of the type r stock motor is just rediculous! I would have had to buy the same stuff anyways to upgrade my cams and all. Type R is sick, but I mean aftermarket cams can blow ITR cams out of the water. and yes with the JDM ITR pistons my compression ratio is bumped up to 11.4-1 from the b18c's stock 10.6-1...

Wired in the P72 IAT sensor:
Wired in the P72 IAB sensor:

The Stock Intake Manifold:
And the new ported Skunk2 Manifold:
The Ported P72 Throttle Body:
