04 TL swap into dc2, can it be done?
Alright, there is an TL for sale, only engine is good to use, nothing else. So i was thinking about buying it and swap that monster into my 97 integra. Can it be done?
Here is a spec of it:
Aluminum 3.2-liter, 24-Valve, SOHC VTEC™V-6
Displacement (liters)3.2
Horsepower (SAE net)270 bhp @ 6200 rpm
Torque 238 lbs-ft @ 5000 rpm
Redline 6800 rpm
Compression Ratio 11.0:1

Depending on how much it is, I ewould try to snag that engine for sure. Doesn't hurt to give it a shot; I would by a DC2 shell and attempt the swap on it, instead of possibly ruining a good car.

how is that similar? its a 4 cylinder VS a 6 cylinder swap first of all, not to mention people make mount kits for the K series stuff into the 9X civic/teg chassis.
im not gonna tell you its not possible, but honestly if you have to ask you probably dont have the resources to pull that swap off. i cant even fathom the electrical shitstorm that would ensue trying to make that work. the new TL's run bluetooth wich is wireless communication. not to mention all the physical fabrication of mounts, axles, etc. i dont even know if its possible to physically FIT that engine into a DC2 chassis.

you'd probably be best off doing a mid-engined setup like the dude who put the h22 into his dc2.

hey this is just an idea....take every thing from the wreck of the tl. harness, all the wiring and everything else needed to make it run. take an integra shell, gut it out and just use the entire tl harness to run the engine in the integra. not everything will work (like lights and dash and ****), but it would make one hell of a drag car.
then all you would need is someone to make mounts.
just an idea, remember that.
