I have the spoon x-brace. It's winter right now, so I haven't really driven much since I installed it, especially any "spirited" driving. But I do seem to feel rough roads a little more than before, which to me is a sign of more stiffness. I don't know about ground clearence differenced between the 2, but I'm sure it's not much.

I have the Spoon X-brace. You will notice much stable at the front when cornering , I feel the front of the car more rigid and much better turn in response.

I can't give you any info on why the Comptech piece costs more than Spoons', but I can give you some input on the changes experienced by install Spoons X Brace.

It seems that the "shock" felt by bumps is handled more by the suspension, instead of making it through the suspension and releasing its energy on the chassis. Thus, going over bumps and uneven road surfaces will feel a little smoother. I've also noticed that steering response at all speeds, high or low, have increased. And it seems that low speed steering effort has been reduced.

the neuspeeds are also a cheaper alternative. the neuspeed xbraces clear when oil is drained, so you don't get the x-brace oily. not that it would matter, but it does happen.

as for the comptech - its a low profile x-brace, so its tucked up under the car instead of hanging down approximately .5 - 1" from the car.

I am using the Pro Autosports X-Brace and noticed a definite improvement in steering response. It makes controlling oversteer much easier by allowing you to make quick precise adjustments and sensing the changes immediately. The X-Brace from Pro Autosports is very low profile (Excellent ground clearance) and is made of lightweight aluminum. I highly recomend getting any brand of X-Brace if you are serious about performance. Check out the Pro Autosports X-Brace at:

interesting x-brace. I haven't heard of that one. any of them will give the same benefit and weigh about the same, which is approximately 8.5lbs. (aluminum or steel)

but it doesn't look that low of a profile. the comptech doesn't hang down at all. that's the main advantage of the comptech unit. so if you were to get one of the mugen front spoilers either the full front bumper (big smiley face) or half bumper, with the under tray which fits tightly, you *might* be able to use the comptech piece with it.
