Default wheel size question

Im new to the offset and wheel/tire thing on this car and the search button gave me nothing. Im looking at a set of sportmaxx 006 wheels and im wondering if 17x7+40 in the front and 18x7.5+42 are gonna give me any issues. If im way off on this thing guys just let me know cuz i dont want these thing to look horrible. Suggestions on tire size would be a great help as well.

the car is sitting at stock ride height as of right now but im looking to do 1.5-2.5 inch drop soon.
Thanks in advance and sorry for the noob question.

7.5 rear is a waste if you are going aftermarket.

17 x 18 staggered is also a waste IMO. with a 2.5 inch drop....its gonna look stupid with a 7.5 rear

What do you think?

8.5 at least in the rear. ideal for your criteria

i think going staggered is the way to go
maybe some 18x9 with a higher offset and 18x7.5 or 8
