What do you guys think of this new diffuser, simple and subtle?
Diffusers are used to increase the airflow underneath the vehicle. This increased airflow creates a higher air velocity and will suck the vehicle to the road, increasing the amount of friction at the tires. the faster flowing air underneath the vehicle will also decrease turbulance at the rear of the vehicle, reducing drag.
The middle of the vehicle is the air velocity is the greatest, anything behind the tire is mostly to redirect and smooth out turbulant flow. The middle is where you should focus on.
Another benefit to increase air velocity at the rear also means it will suck out the air from the exhaust. Increasing velocity in the exhaust is always a plus.
Just because the aero pieces are not HUGE does not mean that they are not functional. YES they work better with greater surface area, but the huge S.A. also increases drag. coef.
You want to find a balance.
I would however, try to push back the piece closer to the bumper and have it sit flush. You wouldn't want to increase flow and have it ram into the bumper.

I don't mind it, I have been thinking about getting one for my car as well. Purely cosmetic or not, plenty of people enjoy the look.
Don't let the HT haters get under your skin, S2KI is far superior IMO
I really like the looks of this new Alloycraft piece

That piece would seem to be more functional. The floor is extended forward of the diff which would smooth and increase the flow even further and it also moves the pressure zone closer to the rear wheels. It also has the wing extend beyond the rear bumper.Nice...
It's supposed to be stealthy from cops. Ricers and their shiny exhaust cans
Can I get a link to this piece?
not my cup of tea....and i drink a lot of tea.
looks like you took the little shark fin roof diffusers people put on evos and mounted it down there
to each their own though

yea, im kinda a function over form guy...nothing goes on my car unless its to enchance or upgrade something that works...not sure if its more for looks or actual function
So I will lose the rear jacking point for my car with this diffuser and also the rear differential no longer gets the air flow for cooling? The way it is without the entire bottom being covered, looks like the air can flow above this diffuser and get trapped behind the bumper, creating more drag, no?
Back on topic, OP's diffuser looks nice.

I searched it, but came up with a bunch of them that were carbon fiber or other styles.
I'll email you about it.
