Default Trasmission problems.....Removal

I friend a friend that is pulling an 02 s2000 swap. The problem is he can not get the transmission off the motor...Is there any tricks?? Maybe something that you can't see real easy? I'm at work so I can't see whats going on but its out and they have an inch gap in the bell housing and motor and said it will not go any more. Let me know. thanks.

Did he already lower the subframe and get the top bolts? I bet he is missing the starter bolt that goes through and threads into the tranmission. You have to get it from the front side towards the rear of the car (lean over driverside fender) with a long extension a 14mm socket.

EDIT: Did he take the fork out where it slides into the release bearing? Slave cylinder is pushed against this fork.

I have a couple friends at a local Honda dealership and they all hate the S2K swap/maintenance with a passion, good luck.

There are 3 upper bolts and 5 lower bolts, 8 total. Two are sorta hard to get to: one is behind a hose bracket, the other is behind the header mounting flange.

The shift fork has to be pulled out, then wedged in the "out" position with a rag, as stated in the service manual.
