Transmission temps
Has there been any experimentation with Transmission coolers on the S2k?
I notice that after cruising on very hot summer days, and during the couple track days I participated in last year, the entire center console area was hot from the heat of the transmission. I just thought I'd investigate and see if there were concerns in this area and if anyone else has addressed them.

I asked this about a diff the other day.. didn't get much feedback. My thinking is any electric oil pump and oil cooler would work. Just need to find a good place to tap the lines (I would think near the fill and drain plugs would be as good as any)
A lot of people will tell you that you don't need to do this. And you may not, but it won't cost much and can't hurt. Besides, most the endurance racers cool EVERY fluid, including the tranny, and diff. I say, they're the best lesson in reliability that we have. And sometimes reliability is about overkill.

On a brighter note...
I just e-mailed a compnay in Quebec, Canada. They advertise that they make transmission coolers for the S2000, so I'm going to see what kind of information I can get from them.

only time i see this as a benefit is on a track only S that races enduro's. remember, honda has tested our vehicles thoroughly on the track. if there was a need, more companies would be making them

the way that i see it, if you drive it easy it has a certain lifespan. if you drive it harder, its life span shortens. period.
it cant hurt, but also that is something else to go wrong.
do any pros use it?

This could be true of any car, not just the s2k.

I don't know of anyone that use one, which is partially why I wanted to look into it. I'm still waiting to hear back from the company I e-mailed.
