Is it time
I have a 2000 s2000 with 91000 miles and the clutch is getting quite loud. When im in third gear and i let off the gas while approaching a red light (25-37 mph) it is really loud. The other gears are loud to but third is the loudest. So i usually put the car in neutral. Do you think it is time to replace the clutch or is this normal. Also does anyone know the cost to replace a clutch with laber included? Thanks.
2000-01 had a clutch buzz tsb(tech. service bulletin)...
could be that this has never been done, and has become worse over time....
have the dealer run the vin# to see if it has been done...
however, w/ 91k on the stock clutch( if it is the stock clutch) i would probably start looking to replace it.....

Yeah I would like to know also, I just traded cars and now own a 00 s2000 that has this same issue... seems to buzz when you let off the gas while in gear. I wasnt sure if it was the clutch or the tranny. If there is a TSB out for it will the dealership fix for free under warranty or what?
Warranty's are long past. You may get a "good will" fix and have Honda pay for part of it. I doubt that'll happen, unless you have long and good standing relationship with your dealer who will pursue this for you. Doesn't hurt to try. Try calling Honda directly and tell us how it goes.
The Clutch buzz is harmless and eventually, you won't notice it -- well I don't.

I think its 800$ just in labor, plus the clutch parts. I could be wrong though.

if that is true the going labor rate varies between dealerships....
i would say the average labor rate is between 65 an 100 per hr....
multiply that out....
8.5 x say 80 = $680 labor
