Steering feels weird.
Long story short,
I need to apply more power to turn left than turn right.
At a higher speed, it feels less different in terms of applied power of steering direction.
But at a lower speed the difference is distinctive.
Simply put, I need to apply alot more power to turn the wheel to the right than to the left. I checked the tire pressure and both sides are equal front and back.
What could cause this? Alignment? or something is wrong with rack and pinion steering?
Any help would be greatly apprecaited!

sounds like the steering system, if you can jack the car up in the air, safely secure the car on jack-stands and try to rotate the front wheels at the hubs, if it turns easy one way and not the other, you've got a problem with the steering box. If you've hit a curb hard or any type of jolt while turning will damage the steering rack.
Thanks Vapor!
about six months ago, The car was in an accident, they had to replace steering rack. About 2 weeks ago or so, the steering symptom appeared. So I took the car back to the Honda dealership where it was replaced and asked them to take a look at it. I think they are looking at the same thing as you.
So I have scheduled to bring the car in on next Wednesday to take a look at the car. I know damn well, they will try anything to put blame on me. Good thing that I saved all the documents.
Thanks for the info.

no problem, it makes me wonder if they really replaced the steering rack. If the wheels turn easily one direction but not the other, that's in indication that the gears or something inside the steering rack is damaged.

Wednesday is the day when my car gets checked by the dealership.
I will keep you guys posted.
But yeah Vapor, I wonder the same. I've already faxed everything to my lawyer in case the dealership try to pull punches on me.
Thanks

Ok, we found the problem.
Scheduled day to bring the car in isn't until Wed, but today powersteering on the car completely disappeared and EPS and Maintenance light came on.
Called a friend of mine, owns S2000, and he says the powersteering motor went bad on mine. So it is less serious problem than I thought, this should be covered under warranty.
On a lighter note, I drove around a few miles without powersteering on S2000 and it was even more RAW!

the motor doesn't fail or go bad for nothing. If the gears inside the rack are broken or if there is anything bent in there, the whole rack needs to be replaced. The motor may have failed b/c of the added resistence from a broken or bent piece within the rack. A simple way to test that is what I said above, jack the car up so the front end is in the air and try to rotate the wheels by hand from full lock left to full lock right with your hands at the tire/wheels. If you encounter any notchiness, something is wrong with the rack.
