SQUEELING ON S2000
I have an 02 S2000 with 68XXX on the clock. It has a squeeling noise that occurs at 3500 rpm ONLY. For the life of me I can't tell what it is. I have not had someone rev it while I listen because I have been extremely busy with work. I plan on doing that tonight. Just seeing if any other s2k owners have had any similar problems? Thanks for any info. I tried search but came up short handed.
i have the same problem it just started 2 weeks ago and cant seem to figure it out either, my air filter needs to be changed which i think could be it but if someone knows that would help. Mine sounds from 3000-4000 rpm and then goes away, its a small squeal too.
well the noise on my car comes when im driving only not when im parked and rev up. I do have my stock air intake box out the whole thing but just temporary so maybe your right
i actually got a k&n drop in filter or aftermarket intake that came with the car and im hearing the same exact thing but it is true what u said, its more noticable without the oem intake, after reading your post i'd thought i'd share my whistling noise as well.

Some questions to possibly help narrow it down.
Does the noise happen at 3500 rpm in all gears or only some?
Does it go away once the car has warmed up?
Are you driving in a straight line or turning the corner?

It does it when it is cold or warm.
It does it either way.
Belt has been changed and still same thing. I removed a heat shield thinking it was that but it wasnt. Guess it's best fit to take it to honda. I don't want to but I gotta keep her healthy.

It's probably just the intake whistle. If it is...then that's normal. The intake will whistle...even the stock box whistles sometimes. It happens only at certain RPMs and throttle positions.
The most important part of this post is throttle position. Try this, when you are driving and it starts making the noise either floor it or let off the gas. If the noise stops then it is just intake whistle, if it does not stop the take the car to get serviced.
