2005 S2000 Intakes
I have just bought a brand new 2005 S2000 and I am planning on putting an intake in it. Does anyone recommend a certain intake that will improve my performance the best, and somehting that will have a good sound to it. Not the sound of a wind up toy.
Also feel free to include recommendations for other performance parts

Most intakes that make good power are $1,000 and up. The J's racing intake is around 1,200 or so. Mugen is good as well. It retails for $1,600. I would suggest getting to know the car very well before you change anything. I have had mine for about 4 months now...I have not changed a thing..yet. It is a 2.0L motor, so most intakes will not sound like a "wind up toy". Drop in filters are very good as well. The stock intake is very efficient from the factory. AEM is pretty good for the money, but as you said you just got the car(and your profile says you are 16 yrs old) so I would take a while to get the know the car first. I am not trying to affend you at all, but there are just a lot of young kids who get the car and mash on it right away....without knbowing how to drive it. I would hate to see another person hurt thier car, and even worse themselves. Just some food for thought.

Yeah hes right, you should get to know the car first and see what it can do. If you want to change the pitch of the sound a lil while keeping it stock, try taking off the box over your intake filter. It resonates the sound, and by taking it off makes it a lot louder and sounds much better i think.

My 05 is 8 months old. I have an intake for it but I dont know what reaction I will get from the Honda dealer re warranty impact. It depends on how your dealer feels about playing hardball to try to void your warranty in the event you have a problem. For what its worth, I was not impressed with the way cold air gets to the box. I installed a AUT cooling plate that works better. I dont know if it helps on power but it sure is more efficient. Good luck.

Re: (P Nut)
since u live in rainly part of the state..
i would go w/ either comptech or jdm intake.
bang for the bux would be aem, but you won't like it if u live in nj
so... the best option for u would be comptech.
if u got $$$ then it'll probably be mugen or j's... (for some reason, i can't tell a difference)

I went with an AEM v2 on mine... needless to say i was very impressed with the results for the money. Just my .02 most to all intakes are within 1-2 horsepower depending on how much you really wanna spend, just like everyone has told you is entirely up to you.
