s2k engine in a miata?
alright heres the deal.. my friend wants to do something that is has never been done or very rare... he wants to through a s2k motor in his 99 miata... im askin everyone with info about if this **** can even work.... please help me out
For the amount of hassle that it would take to get the F20C into the Miata you could do this with a much lower level of fuss:

I imagine the rotary conversion would be harder than a S2K engine conversion, due to the placement of the eccentric shaft 
Assuming the engine clears, you'd need custom mounts, possibly clearancing the tunnel for the transmisison, and a shortened driveshaft. At the minimum.

There was a Road & Track article a little while back that looked at some experiments Mazda played with. One was a rotary engine in a Miata, another was a Ford V-6! For the second one the car needed a new (and extremely unattrative) hood for clearance.

Speaking as a ex-Miata owner, turbo is the way to go if you want to modify this car. Those little 1.6/1.8L Mazda motors can take a lot of boost.
