Re: s2000 wont start
Does the starter turn / does the car crank?
If the OBD2 scanner couldn't communicate with the ECU via the interface, did you check if the ECU fuse was blown and/or issues with a short?
Check those things first. If still not starting, get an ECU/ignition immobilizer/key and test with a known-good ECU. Don't try with anyone else's ECU in case you have a short (aka don't fry your friends' ECUs testing your car)

Re: s2000 wont start
When you push the start button what happens? Does the starter turn? Do the gauges do their sweep motion when you turn the key all the way on? If not it may be your battery or battery cables.
I had a battery in my s2000 literally die overnight at home after driving to/from work a couple days. I put it on charge and it showed fully charged the next morning and I was like no way, that's too fast. Tested it in my rsx, no start. This is the only time I've ever used advance auto gold batteries and never again. Took it straight to autozone for a duralast gold, even when I was within warranty on that old battery.
I'm also assuming you don't have any Check Engine Lights and you don't have any aftermarket ecu/mods, hacked up wiring harness and whatever else that may go bad.
Wow, just realized this thread was 5 months old, guess the s2000 section is dying...
