S2000 Compression test
Hi, recently I installed a test pipe on my s2000 and sometimes it smokes white under idle. Today though it smoked a lot more then usual.
Ran a compression test and these were the results:
Dry: 210 210 190 200
Wet: 215 220 210 210
Was wondering if that white smoke was because of the test pipe really, because it smoked alot and smelled funny.

bump for more help about the compression
it was weird on the last 2 cylinder closests to the firewall, when I was doing the compression test white smoke/dust whatever was coming out

I'm not sure what you are talking about... Where was it coming from? Was it dust or smoke?

it was coming out the cylinder while i was compression testing it. like from the hole where the compression test goes into whenever it cranked smoke came out of it

Was this an old compression tester? Nothing should be coming out of the spark plug hole if the tester is properly sealed. When you say wet, do you mean your poured a cap of oil in there?
wet i mean i held the gas pedal down.I thought thats what wet meant, but know I know what it is. It was a brand new one from autozone, it only shot smoke from the 2 back cylinders while doing the compression test
A wet compression test is after you put a little oil in the cylinder to help seal up the rings, the smoke coming out of the open spark plug holes is raw fuel squirting in from the fuel injectors, holding down the throttle fully is the prefered method. Proper compression is about 14.7 times the compression ratio (8) if the ratio was 8:1.
ya, I was thinking it was the fuel because it smelled like it. But how come only from the rear 2 cylinders? So my compression is bad I guess what white smoke said. Some one can tell me what I should look out for? Car runs fine no oil burning or anything. Just smokes once in a while but im guessing its from the test pipe
got similar issue..
compression tested..
211 210 200 200
is this normal? if not..what should i check?
also have test pipe and spoon exhaust..
just change plug from denso iridiums to ngk laser platinums so hopefully it helps a little?
