Amazingly enough, I agree, Graf has not gone above and beyond yet, and for once I wouldn't raise an eyebrow over it lol.

Read what you wrote here aloud and then ask yourself why you wasted everyone's time posting this thread up.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by eternaltoua &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I'm talking about building an all around street toy here. Both cars have their ups and downs. Example, the Civic is lighter than the S. And it doesn't require BIG heavy brakes to stop it, therefore it does not require you to go with big heavy wheels as you would with an S. This makes up for less sprung weight (=quicker stops and go's). However, good thing about the S is it's drivetrain and lower center of gravity due to it being topless. But you can't really go that far with speed with an S unless you have the time & money. Also need I remind you how much it costs for a decent used one? I'm not a rich guy, so how am I going to afford parts for the S if my money is going into the car payments?</TD></TR></TABLE>

don't refer your street car as race car here, street racing is for tools and tool bags.

you already break it down pretty nice, you know for the money to invest in it your civic will probably out run a stock s2000. The biggest question is how much more do you want to spend on it. I sold my turbo fwd honda for a s2000 because i dont want to deal with the bs assocaited with econo box honda(ie thieve, cops, el monte ghetto racer) there's always be people living it up in a 500 dollar crx with 20 k K20 motor and there's always people enjoying a perfectly stock s2000. we can't answer your question can't we?

thats possibly the FUNNIEST thing ive seen on the internet in the past 6 months, only on honda-tech.com is the only "real car" a 4 cylinder honda CONVERTIBLE

civic with k20- simple, fun to drive, thief magnet, low insurance, spanking lots of american muscle and sti's/evo's

s2000- could be decent looking if you arent retarded, fun to drive, quick enough for the street with just bolt ons, drop top, arent in the same "club" as civic's, higher insurance, seats gonna get jacked without hardtop

I agree that the s2000 will treat you much better just because of the fact that it is alot newer. Keep in mind that an integra or civic can handle just as good as an s2000. I don't care what any of you say, it is true. So with that said, it is basically up to preference. Get what you think you will enjoy more. I personally would enjoy the s more.

And here is something for all of you guys that worship the s2000. Stop dreaming.

Default Re: S2000 or CIVIC EJ1? (b20integrapower)

dont get me wrong you can get a civic/integra to outhandle/outperform an s2000, but not when there are limitations

if you watch the video, the eg has a k-swap, bolt-ons, and kpro. those s2000's have bolt-one with an fmu (at the time thats all that was allowed). so not only does the hatchback have more power, its also lighter. my friend runs honda challenge with a k24 ek and now they have allowed the s2000 guys to run enging management setups to keep somewhat closer in competition.

from what ive seen at the races and from what he has said... the s2's if they were at the same power:weight that his car & other civic/integras were at, theyd be winning more often. in the turns the s2's would definately have an edge on the fwd, but on the straightaways they just cant catch up.

btw his k24 has bolt-ons and kpro, 230whp 197wtq...kevin helmes's b20/vtec hatch has less weight and more power, but in the turns (even with a 150lb penalty) his car outhandles helmes

Here is another one.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...lated

What's funny is the civic was a spectators car. They wanted to see what it could do and it beat the s2000.

And you can't tell me that hatch in the second video makes more than 300hp. So there you go. The s probably has more power and the hatch still keeps up. Just trying to keep everything in perspective

i didnt say that, but im going with power:weight ratio and then suspension setup on the cars.

eg hatch - fully gutted
weight: approx 1950-2000lbs
power: approx 230whp (taken from top setup themselves Estimated output was 220 to 230 HP to the wheels)
ratio: approx 8.7lbs:1hp

s2000 - you can see it has full interior minus stock roll hoops, most likely has everything else as well
weight: approx 2650-2700lbs (28xx stock, no softtop, bucket seats, added weight for supercharger)
power: approx 300whp
ratio: approx 9lbs:1hp

plus, im 95% positive the suspension setup on the s2000 isnt the best there is, probably some mild coilovers... so the hatchback has the advantage with a better p:w (power to weight ratio) and a better suspension setup

remember, hp isnt everything. you could have 800hp in a car with a fully track-ready suspension, but the power wont be useable, and will eventually hurt the cars performance

ok, im done

I understand all of that. All I am trying to get across is that a 15 year old chassis being able to handle with such precision is quite impresssive. I also posted all of this to get all the s2000 fanboys to get off their high horses. Thats all

We both make valid points. I clearly understand yours and it is a great perspective. And i hope you understand mine as well.

Now why can't all of honda tech follow the way the two of us handled this?

Ok here is a straight out honest answer for you. I own a fully built turbo h22 hatch. Its a blast to drive..........in a straight line!!! The S2k is by far my favorite car for all around fun. No its not the fastest car in the world but anybody who thinks their car is, obviously hasnt been exposed to much.

I guess the most important question is............Can you really afford the car? Im not asking to be a dick. Im just curious. If you get the car and your like most car nuts your not gonna want to leave it alone. Can you afford to buy the car, keep up the maintenance, pay for the insurance, and mod the car?

I just bought the bandwidth from HT, so now you're the idiot wasting my time by talking **** on my post. Anyway, thanks for helping me make up my mind. I'll keep my Civic so once I'm done with my swap I'll enjoy every moment of it spanking punk S2000 drivers and make them cry and whine that they lost to a Civic. (I'll even out handle you too once I'm done with the suspension, or maybe I can just tap that 'S' of yours into spin-out-crash mode).

P.S. I think people can relate to Civics more than S2Ks, so actually people care less about your cyberspace S2000.
