S2000 or CIVIC EJ1?
I got a 95 Civic coupe that has a near mint body. It's near completion. It's got lighweight rims, coilovers, exhaust, etc. However, I think I'm falling for the S2000. If I keep the Civic, my plan is to do a K20 Type-R swap and turn it into a semi-race car. My other plan is to sacrafice the coupe for an S2000. Suggestions?

If you are looking for speed then the EJ with the K is it. But if your looking for a great looking, great handling car that isnt 13 years old then the s2k is for you. Pluse you can DD the S2k with less theives stalking you.
Seriously, who wouldn't want a swapped civic over an S2K? (don't answer; rhetorical)
One day I'll save up enough to do the whole K20/Civic thing, however I couldn't drive it much, for I fear it would be 2 sick for tha street

Srsly. If you have to ask this kind of question IMO you are not ready for an S. But that is just my .02

I have had 1 fast honda, 1 decent honda, 1 stoopid fast honda, and an S2000.
I will be the only one to answer your question without sarcasm because I just woke up and sarcasm doesn't work for me when I am sleepy
Once in a while, I do miss being able to blow the tires off in 4th gear through 120 mph, all I have to do to no longer miss is is roll through a 40mph curve in 3rd gear WOT from 80-90 mph and I no longer remember what a civic is.
If that doesn't answer your question, swap a K into your car.

If that wasn't clear enough, then I don't know what is.
I've had a 96 civic coupe with a built h22a, yeah it was fast as hell, but that car cannot handle worth a damn. Owning an S2000 makes it worth it to wake up in the morning. There are certain things you can do with certain cars, you just have to find out what makes it more worth doing that would make you happy.

so swapping a k20 type R motor will turn a civic into a street race car?
wow, i am selling my s2000 tomorrow for a civic

This guy I work with is constantly referring to my car, my previous cars, and pretty much anything with an H on the front as "street racer cars".
Makes my skin crawl.

if you want to be seen as 'awesome' to sport-compact owners, keep the coupe. granted for the price of a stock s2000, the coupe will out handle/accelerate/etc, but remember that the coupe will be near its limits without losing the little comfort factor that you will have left.
plus, dont forget about thieves, s2000's arent stolen anywhere as often as civics/integras are

I'm talking about building an all around street toy here. Both cars have their ups and downs. Example, the Civic is lighter than the S. And it doesn't require BIG heavy brakes to stop it, therefore it does not require you to go with big heavy wheels as you would with an S. This makes up for less sprung weight (=quicker stops and go's). However, good thing about the S is it's drivetrain and lower center of gravity due to it being topless. But you can't really go that far with speed with an S unless you have the time & money. Also need I remind you how much it costs for a decent used one? I'm not a rich guy, so how am I going to afford parts for the S if my money is going into the car payments?
The S doesn't need "big heavy brakes" to slow it down. The stock brakes with project Mu pads and braided lines do a fine job.
The "big heavy wheels" aren't heavy either, I have staggered 18's on mine and they probably weigh less than whatever you were thinking of putting on your "street race car" lol. I was trying not to talk **** but you refuse to do any research on the subject. All the info is here, you just have to look for it.
It's obvious you don't want the car much, you are stuck in stop light to stop light mode with a FWD hatch with a K swap and that's fine, go for it.

I can't believe this... but i think H-T is on GRAF's side this time.
lemme clarify:
if you're barely getting by car payments, don't mod your car. lol... eternal basically in ur last sentence u asked..
"If 100% of my money is being used, where do I get money to mod?"
