Yeah, definitely wax it a few times. I had a guy come into our dealership with a brand new range rover with sap all over it, took forever to get it out without screwing **** up, but yeah, wax wax wax.

Claybar it and you are done. IT is the single best invention to cleaning cars ever made. I would recommend wax afterwards, but not sure that you need to.

I detailed cars for 3 years in oregon. Definitely clay bar, bottle of liquid wax, and a good carnauba afterwards, and call it a day...

Claying tree sap is not the solution. Claying is meant for removing micro contaminants, not obvious blemishes. Also, using clay for things like sap is a sure fire way to contaminate it for no reason. There are sap removing products, but they are usually just isopropyl alcohol and some fragrance and thickener.

Put some rubbing alcohol on a clean rag, then push it on top of the sap, but do not rub. By letting it sit on the sap, it breaks down the sap and is gentle on the paint. You might need to polish that spot, since sap can be harmful to the clear if left on for too long.

claybar is not the solution for all detailing needs.
