Yeah, cuz swapping tops is only $1500 including labor.

Jet the meguiars plastic cleaner and the polish I forgot the numbers like 8 for the cleaner and 10 for the polish.. You can find it on their web site. I also use their detailer, forgot that # also.

Are you serious? No where in the his post did he mention his plastic window has gone to sh*t and is in extreme need of a new top...I mean come on, change the ENTIRE top because the back plastic window is dirty is just stupid...Dont scare the person and make him think that he needs a brand new top (which is about 600-700) simply because you guys dont know what to use to clean the window...

Call Honda and ask them how much their window cleaners are or try a product called "Plexus"...People on s2ki have used that and have had great results...

Hope this helps

Ray

if plasctic is fucked there is only so much you can do. Preventitive maintenance is the best way. Also it's not going to be cheap to have the rear window destiched and replace it. Might be cheaper to try local wrecking yards for the glass one.

If you really have to have new I could hook it up on the price a bit.

Yes im serious...and it wasnt meant to scare the guy, if news like that SUPRISES him then i dont know what to tell you or him...unfortunately my friend's AP1 has the plastic rear window, after spending tons of money on tuning and s/c parts, he realized when he put his top up (which is a rare site) because it was raining one night that it was getting very foggy...we bought the plexus stuff, we also bought a few products from both autozone and pep boys...NONE of them worked, they cleaned it for sure, but it just looked shiney and foggy then...did nothing to clear the plastic fogginess up. SO my suggestion to replace the top was just given the fact that after trying many products, when my friends was foggy enough to want to clean it like that to make it clear...we ended up just buying him a top with glass in it from a junkyard that happened to have one (LUCKY find...probobly never happen again in 1,000,000 years).

So to answer your question, yes im quite serious...and im not saying ANYTHING just because i dont know what to use, im saying it honestly because we tried pretty much EVERYTHING and had no positive results...replacing the top is the ONLY way (that ive ever seen work) to get a clear rear plastic again, and in that case, might as well spend a little more and sport for the glass top...OR, find out what your insurance premium is for comprehensive situations where the top is torn from "Vandalism", shred the bastard and claim it...pay your deductible and have a good day (this is quite simply 100% illegal and is insurance fraud, but sometimes people want to know every outlet of these situations, this IS one, though personally i dont recommend it myself.)

The product I mentioned above didn't leave the window foggy, I know what you mean by that and the Honda manual, if I remember correctly, doesn't mention a brand, just a cleaner. I just cleaned both sides (the inside was a bear to get to) and did it by arbitrary sections (3 to a side?). It came out very clear and is still that way after 6 months.
