I just used a piece from on old sideskirt i had laying around, cut it to dimensions, super glued it cover the hole, then siliconed the edges around, so there's no leakage and called it a day. pretty easy.

ok guys i did it finally but i dont know if i did something wrong. i coverd the hole and cut the wall. To be honest its not all that loud and its not much of a differnce. Im curious to know, but if you dont cut the whole whole wall will it not sound differnt? I cut big enough for the air to get thru?

Your just mad you don't have the skills to perform this mod. There is nothing wrong with doing it (if you leave the airbox top on s2kj55 ). Hell i was gonna do it before i got my snorkel. Its a cheap, effective way that works almost as good as aftermarket.

FYI, the airbox mod is what Spoon does to their race cars to use in conjunction with their snorkel .

I guarantee you that my homemade intake will outperform just about ANY reputable manufacturer's intakes out there. Mugen, J's, ASM... bring them on. Wanna know the best part? It's free.

Did you do that mod with the AUT cooling plate with the ram air scoop in the bumper and insulated gutted air box? I bet you did.

Cut down the inside wall.
Use the wall to make the hole cover(cut to size) use and epoxy or honda bond to keep the plastic on, also cut out the radiator duct for better air circ.

theres nothing wrong with learning to turn wrenches hands on, if he bought an aftermarket kit he would rip out the airbox neway, so theres nothing wrong with some good old trial and error...try a mod, see how it affects ur car...foundation of aftermarket products....keep wrenching

spoon snorkel, gutted airbox, blocked resonator chamber, K&N filter, cutted oem air plate here also(leave the L shape air guide alone!)

the reason i don't want a freaking intake is that i don't want to deal with the noise, the hydrolock and dirty filter due to the open location.

actually alot of S driver perfer this setup over filter on a stick, or maybe that's what spoon did on their endurance race car
