Re: (hondaZvic)
Few new bits have arrived for my F20 Conversion...
Jenvey Inlet Port Adapter and Fuel Rail.
Jenvey Individual Throttle Bodies 51m taper necks, 45 degree injector pockets
Trumpets
It would have been rude to keep that sexual induction noise hidden in the std airbox dont you agree ?

Re: (Lookinaround)
I am currently working on this swap right now. I am about halfway done...hope to be done in a couple of months. Here are some tips I can tell you:
RHD S2000 swaps are a real pain compared to LHD. If I remember right, you WILL need a custom exhaust header and the motor will have to be clocked in the bay about 5-10 degrees due to steering column clearance issues. It is also a good idea just to buy a totaled s2000. There is a rather large amount of parts needed, and it would suck to get almost done and realize you just need the key for the immobilizer. There is very little technical info about this swap, I have searched for months.
Here is a little info:

PS...you dont happen to have stock black interior pieces for the 86, do you?
A few pics for believeability factor:

Thanks for the support guys
The F20C package I got includes the entire cars loom, instrument cluster, ecu, keys, gearbox, propshaft, inlet and exhaust manifolds etc.
Yes - I have seen LOTS of LHD conversions and it sure does look easier not having the steering on the same side as the exhaust. I have only ever seen 2 RHD cars and they were both done by HOTSTAFF. Its hard to find good quality photographs of this car to see how different the engine sits in the car.
Its kinda been on hold for a while now but hopefully it should start to pick up some speed again now.
I think I am going to have tap some vacuum ports into the ITB Adapter plate as I need to be able to power my brake booster - this was exactly how my ITBS worked on my old 4AGE engine.
Anyway - as more happens I will post it here.

Bit more work on the car.
Stripped down all the inlet side of the engine to install the ITB manifold. Needed to do this to measure up for vac ports that need tapping in.
Water pump was stiff so I checked it out...must have been damaged in the donor car so had to get a new one.
New Rad Arrived - just needs tabs and filler welding on
Also got my cross member spacers so we can drop it down 2" so that the hood/bonnet closes. Have to use slightly different steering arms and knuckles now to take into account the geometry problems with dropping the front suspension pick-up points.
Sold my old 4 point cage at the weekend and got this 6 point cage today
Way way way behind on the project now but it should hopefully pick up speed in a few weeks time.

Re: (FR-MOB: SnoFlake)
Hey man,
if you can try taking a peep at how the man did the engine mounts on the cross member. I've seen this done about 3 ways now and cant decide which looks the most sensible option.
I figured try and use the std F20 cast mounting brackets and build up some platforms for them on the x-member. The other option is to make new mount brackets for the motor (the mount surfaces on the block are nice and flat)
Just interested to see how that TE27 was done.

Got my AEM EMS ordered today - should be here next monday - woohoo
Car goes off to get chopped about before the end of the month and then I can finally start rebuilding it.
FR-MOB: SnoFlake - any pics of the mangos x-member yet ? I need to decide how I am building my engine mount platforms pretty soon.

Re: Project: F20 transplant into AE86 Levin (solsurvivor)
Hi Ian, I am also about to start an ae86 repower with an s2000 engine and box. Wow it is a releif to find there is another petrol head out there brave enough to take on the toyota purist brigade. I reside in New Zealand and yes the toyota guys around this neck of the woods can't grasp why I want to abstardise such an icon as the ae86. I guess they may change their minds when we scream past them on the back straight, lol. Hey it would be excellent to keep in touch and bounce solutions off someone else in the same boat so to speak.

Re: Project: F20 transplant into AE86 Levin (vtec86)
Hey man,
glad you posted on my build thread.
I too had some problems with a lot of the european retro toyota enthusiasts thinking I was wrong/mad to place a honda heart into my hachi. Sure - I could have used a turbo lump from a celica gt4 or a beams engine from an altezza - but I don't much care for what it says on the engine cover.
All I wanted was modern reliable NA power in near standard form so I dont have to throw more crazy money at another 4AGE so it will spin to 9K+ rpm and make 180bhp - sure they can do it - but not for very long as the only way to make the power is revs. Whilst turbos are good (I have owned lots of turbo'd cars) I dont think they suit the hachi so well. I believe my car should be approx 900-920kg when complete - and with 260(ish)bhp that will make for an awesom power/weight ratio - in fact maybe slightly higher than a 996 Turbo LOL.
my F20 engine, box, loom - the full package cost me half of what I would have cost to rebuild my old engine - so it makes total sense. Even with buying the throttle bodies and management it still works out less £.
The expense comes in the modifications to the shell, engine and gearbox mounts, a custom exhaust manifold (in my case - LHD cars can use the stock header - RHD is more of an issue because of the steering rack) and join pipe to my apexi exhaust which is the same diameter as the honda system. And further expense comes because the car is pretty much stripped back to the bodywork alone - its a good time to do other things to the car without having to strip it again in the future. I can weld but I am not good enough to make a proper job myself so I have to leave the fabrication to skilled people.
Its a lot of money to spend on a conversion - but hopefully worth it. I dont intend selling my car for a long long time. I just have to not crash it when its ready to compete again LOL.
We will deffo keep in touch - I am guessing your are RHD too yes ?
