love the work going into this
must get round to seeing some of these cars in the flesh
i'm doing a S2000 engine transplant into a much smaller salloon car , one thing i noticed about the gearbox is that it will be very easy to move the gearlever position with very little work, i'm part way through this process
just a bracket to be made to hold the lever mount further forward and shorten the rod and outer sleeve, easy and no welding need be involved warping the casing </TD></TR></TABLE>
i thought about doing this too, however you would have to disassemble the tranny to get that shift rod out to drill any sort of hole that is worth while. that rod is hardened stainless steel. not to mention its obviously a round surface so drilling into it will be next to impossible with it still in the tranny. also how do you intend on getting the shifter plate thing back on to the tranny without welding? this is a good idea, but waaaayy more work than i think you are anticipating at this point.

.john.
did you get your fuel gauge working and can you confirm the differences in the senders/tanks ?
I've found the parts I need on the USA-based site listed above - but I doubt I can order from the UK. anyone help ?
could also do with the left site cam trigger sensor too as mine is missing (doh!)

i thought that so i tried a quick test with a hacksaw and it went through easy so i dont think its hardened
this gearbox and engine is going into a Honda S800 so this will be the easy bit
and this is where i WORK

you shouldnt have a problem ordering off of their website. if you do, you might be able to get in touch with them on the phone

So - the paint is almost finished - but it has to go back in as RS are not happy with the finish in a few places. It looks like this:
(The grille needs to come out and be replaced by my slatted one at some point. It just needs sculpting a little to keep the fogs behind it)
The fuel lines and brake lines are all going in now too.
Fuel cartridge now has a bigger fuel pump in it and -6 unions welded onto the top for the lines that run to the bulkhead connectors.
brake lines all made - just need p-clipping in now
Conrads Corolla being worked on - the boot floor has just been cut out ready for a cell.
Looks like a car again :D

OK, finally got the engine in the S800 about where i want it so i can now relocate the gear lever. and i found it very easy
i used hand tools only , didn't strip the box, drilled and tapped the linkage no problem. just got to make a couple more brackets but i have 6 gears and reverse

Re: (Bozwell)
Hehehhe
man - that car is going to be savage with this engine in it LOL.
Lol - can you post a proper pic of the car - I'm guessing its similar in size to one of the 'good' lotus elan sprints ?
The chap my engine came from was a guy who had purchased a full salvage s2000 - he was going to put the engine into an MG Midget - crazy bast@rd. His wife found out how much more performant the little piece of crap would become with the f20 and told him a firm 'NO' LOL.
Its a spanking engine. My buddy paz now has his F20 powered AE86 up and running and he is loving it. heheheheh
