Its happened to a few owners who haven't fully reinserted the dipstick. Alternatively, check for cracking or wear on the seal around the head of the dipstick.

Given the low volume of these cars, many dealerships have maybe seen three of these cars go out the door in the last four years.

There could be other issues at play, but the most likely scenarios are the two above.

so did the dealerships even try to duplicate the problem you are having? given a chance, im sure any qualified honda service department with at least one platinum level tech could have figured out that the dipstick was not completely inserted into the valve cover or that the o-ring seal was cracked. and why does the volume of s2000's sold have anything to do with the quality of work performed by the service department, jerry?

yeah ..they had a tech that worked on it ....i had oil spilling out of it....it took an extra week for me to wait so they can find the problem the o-ring was replaced and they put a new valve cover thats it but its fine now....it just made me mad when they said to much back pressure to make it seem like it was a major problem ....when it really wasnt

and they put a new valve cover thats it but its fine now....
Why did they change the valve cover?

You sure they changed the valve cover and not the valve cover gasket?
