o2 Sensor Problem -HELP!
I have a 2000 s2000 i never really had any problems with CEL's or anything before and the car is never beat on and is well maintained but for the last week or so my gas milage has been getting worse, then 2 days ago between gears i noticed a small backfire the BAM there it was a CEL. I figured it was an o2 sensor so i went into my work to run the code it was a Secondary Heated Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Sensor 2) and Secondary Heated Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction, so today i replaced the rear sensor and reset the ECU. I drove the car for about 10-15miles with out the CEL coming back on so i thought I was in good shape and then there it was, back on again so whats the problem. As far as exhaust mods i do have a test pipe conected to a Kikamoto cat back exhaust, but like i said i never had any issues before and this has been my set up under the car for quite awhile. Please give me some advice!

What kind of test pipe do you have. sometimes the o2 fix on the berks starts not to work after its got a nice amount of miles on it. try puting you cat back in and see if it throws the code again. If it dosent then its you tp's 02 fix [freak]ing up. You might just need to cleen the o2 fix with some brake cleaner it prolly has a nice amount of carbon build up. (but thats only if its a machenical o2 fix which yours prolly is cause you wouldnt need the o2 sensor anymore if you have the electrical one)
Anyways do what I told you and come back and tell me if it helped. Good luck

no, no and no
first you don't spray sh-t to the o2 sensor, it's a sensor
heater circuit malfunction have nothing to do with carbon built up, it's the internal wires. it just happens and honda's o2 newer sensor are imfamous for taking a dump.
no biggie right? the only downside is the ECM will not take anything else other than a OEM honda o2 sensor(esp if you live emission control state like ca, alot of honda have special smog equipment add on, maybe not your s, but most of the civic and accord do), those solder in 60 dollar bosch, oem replacement with pig tail all will not work.
the new sensor is about 290 for the primary, maybe a hair cheaper for the rear.
if you have a older s, you probably are burning oil, minus the cat your sensor are getting crap days in and days out.
