NSX front end conversion
I might be buying a 93 NSX wrecked in the front at one of the local salvage pools, and I was wondering if the new 03 front clip would bolt on with no major modifications,(drilling holes, bending metal, etc.) I would hate to buy the 03 front cap and have to modify $6g's in parts.
Thanks,
Jonathan

Then don't buy it, because that's about what you'd be looking at. If you replace the front clip, you will need to replace the headlights, hood, and fenders. It's not a bolt-on swap.

http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/Accessories/bodykits.htm here's some info but reallly, you should do a search on http://www.nsxprime.com forum section. This has been talked about several times.
When I say modify i mean like trimming fenders, redrilling latches and stuff like that. I guess I should have been more specific. Here goes: Does the door on the 92 follow the same line as the 2003 fender. Does the hood have the same width? As long as the door fits the fender line, i wouldn't mind modifying anything else to fit. Replacing all the parts you mentioned means exactly what I said in the title... FRONT END CONVERSION.
The hood has to be replaced. The width of the rear of the hood is the same, but the cutouts for the headlights are an entirely different shape and width, and you would have to buy a new hood.
I'm not trying to be difficult or give you a hard time. I'm just pointing out that you would have to replace the parts that I mentioned, and $6K is probably a pretty good estimate on what they will run you.
Keep in mind that you can probably get (relatively) inexpensive used body parts for the '91-01 front end pretty easily from ERZ Motors in New York, but for the '02-03 front end, you will have to buy new.
If you don't care much about the looks of the front end either way, and you want the newer one primarily because of the HID lights, it's also worth noting that there's a nice HID kit specifically for the '91-01 NSX available for $580 from Science of Speed.
