120k on an NSX motor isn't bad at all if it's been well-maintained. If the car still runs great, just leave the motor as-is.

As far as costs for rebuild/swap, I don't know.

well, since i'm not an nsx owner yet, i wasnt sure if there was a "swap" for it or not. my main question, if you read my post properly, was how much for a engine to replace this one. i'm not sure if it was taken care of or not.

I believe a new NSX engine lists for around $18K or so. Subtract discount, add labor.

You can generally get a used NSX drivetrain (3.0-liter engine and 5-speed) for around $5K without too much trouble. The 3.2/6-speed can be harder to find.

On an older car, most folks wouldn't bother getting a new engine. (Duh.)

I'd assume it's a C30A which you could replace with a C32B engine mated to a 6 speed 97+ tranny. It would cost you a bundle, but I'm sure that you'd get a good deal on the NSX with 120k miles anyway. 120k may sound like a lot, but its no different than a Civic, just hope that the previous owners took care of it.

I know of several high mile NSXs that are runing strong. One of our club members has over 177K miles on it and is a daily driver. A few others have 100K-125K with no problems either. I know of two in the Phoenix area that have over 200K miles on them. Orignal engines with proper maintenace. You properly maintain these engines, they'll be bulletproof. With nearly 40K on mine, it's still a baby.
