Is owning and S2000 everything you thought it would be?
I dream every day about owning one, and one day hope I can join the rest of you. But I am wondering, is owning an S2000 everything you thought it would be?
Do you regret buying the car?
Do you wish you had gotten a different car?
Do you think you will every get rid of the car?
For example do you wish you had gotten an older honda and just modded it instead of buying the S2k? Or even a whole different car all together like a 350z or WRX or something.

It is. I live in Washington state which is known for it's rainy weather, I bought an s2k in January and despite the rain, I LOVE my s2k.

Re: Is owning and S2000 everything you thought it would be?
yes, it does a very good job of doing what it was designed for: driving.
the other options you mentioned are great at doing what they were made for but definitely dont compare to the s2k in steering response, balance, and over all feeling of being one with the road.
i've driven everything you mentioned.
a hatch with a swap was fun for what it was, good cheap quick little car that would surprise some people on the street and still serve most daily living needs.
id get a wrx if i wanted something that had decent power and was great for going to the snow.
and i'd get a 350z if i wanted more of a touring car instead of a roadster.
none of the above are necessarily better or worse than an s2k, just completely different.
figure out what you want a vehicle for, and then buy. my s2k is not my only vehicle, as that would limit me from snowboarding, surfing, camping, transporting music equipment, taking my dog on trips, etc. i didnt get a roadster until i could afford to have one as a toy.

No.
No, although I'm selling it soon.
I hope haha.
I'm actually building a early Miata track car instead. The s2000 is brilliant but parts are expensive and so is the car. The Miata is a little more realistic as a track toy on my budget.

no no no, the s2k stands by itself. Modding fwd hondas is NOT the same. How many of those FWDs turn heads? I personally dont see why but three times yesterday seperate groups of kids/people yelled out "nice car!" The s2k brings out lovers not haters. And there isn't a driving experience like it for $11,000! Not to mention AWESOME gas milage, reliability and sound.

S2000 is every bit as satisfying, albeit for different reasons, at less than half the price point of the others.
Yes, I wish it had more oomph sometimes, but its nice driving something that well designed and put together. Makes me think of getting a Cayman in the future instead of a C6

I didn't know much about them, saw one and fell in love with it. 3 days later it was mine, and it waaay exceeded my expectations.
not 1 bit
i wish it could turn into a lugsury car for about 1% of the time - that's it.
if i get a company car, i think i will boost it, cover it and hang on to it. love it loong time.
there is no other comparable car.

Re: Is owning and S2000 everything you thought it would be?
I bought mine after my tranny went in my Prelude. I'd wanted one fore ALONG time, but I always told myself that it was to expensive. Searched CL for 3 weeks and their were only 4 near $10k, only 1 with a clean title and not modded. I took it for a test drive and I was 100% sure that this was the car for me. I've owned it for alittle over 2 months now and I'm still amazed that I actually own one. The only bad part is that it's my only drivable car at the moment and it has 2 seats and a small trunk.
If you're serious about owning one, go test drive one. I promise you that you'll love it. The driving feel of it alone is AMAZING for a factory car. You can't even compare it to a FWD car.
Also, the amount of comments and stairs you get is awsome. I've had so many people come and start talking to me about it; most people don't even know what it is. I hardly ever had this in my Prelude and it has a complete Mugen Aero kit.

Re: Is owning and S2000 everything you thought it would be?
Yes.
I got mine 5 years ago and kept in stock, except for some ASA AR1's. As my boosted Integra project is near complete, I found myself ordering parts for the "S". I love the way the car drives and looks, and is totally a class act. I will always have the "S" and also my Integra.

Absolutely not.
Ill pass before the car will. I will have a second one within the next 2 years
Honestly speaking, the 350z is simply so much of an over rated car. I do not like them and they are handed more credit than what is due. I have driven both a base and a "touring" model, and I do not see what the hype is about. Not to mention I pass atleast 4 of them on the way to work every day . I can agree with the part about having an STi for the purpose of going in the snow, but again I would not have one over the car I have now. It is all up to the preference of the driver/buyer, but I will prefer this car over anything else in its class 7 days a week. You need to test drive one

Ive had a 350z, turbo gsr hatch, gsr integra, RHD integra, tons of swapped civics even a acura TL and now my 2003 s2k.... the s2000 feels more like a drivers car, interior is great , sound system does the job, only thing this car needs is a turbo kit, oh yeah and its a convertible

Besides the obvious performance, looks, and bag for the buck, it's a safe car as well. I got t-boned at 50mph and walked away uninjured, straight to a dealership to buy another one. Get a 2002 or newer.

Love mine. It is the most fun car I have owned. Handles great and just has a great feeling driving it. Just a little under powered IMO so I boosted mine. Now it feels like a complete awesome car.
Yes one day I'm sure I will let it go like all my other cars.

Re: Is owning and S2000 everything you thought it would be?
i really enjoy my car but i think ill get bored of it fairly quickly. i wanted to build a nice/quick car instead of the same old civic thing. itll be fun while i drive it but im thinkign next summer ill want to get something a little more luxurious with some space to it. awesome car, but when it snows 7 months out of the year its not the best choice

Re: Is owning and S2000 everything you thought it would be?
No, it is not. Too small, underpowered and poor gas mileage. In 2000 it would be acceptable, but not by today's standards.
Not completely, but yes.
Not sure, still can't decide what I really want. Very well might be a SLK55 next though.
Yes, obviously.
Still have a 95' teg to work on....
