New diff set up
the r200 will hold
when it is worn you can replace it with mechanical lsd
the mechanical lsd will hold enough power for low 8 sec pass.....you might struggle to find axle strong enough for that though. My mate's nissan broke billet axles after axles and the diff still intact
there are various ratio too but for that awesome engine power you will need custom boxes, so there are more ways to change the gear ratio again.
All of these diffs, nissan or ford, will hold the powers. I am just a little bit concern that the ford diff and CV will be too heavy but if it works then it will be another option for our common dilema. Good luck with the project.

i think everyone wants the nissan because they are scared to put an american product like a ford diff on their S...
If its a good product and it does its job then no one should think twice about it...

100% on that.
100% on that.
Like I said. I can get teh Ford diff WITH the Ford motor sports berring and stuff for $999. That 10% above cost. I can also get a whole rear end of a ford from a junk yard for $1000. That is with the diff, axels, cont. arms ext. I have the diff on teh way so I will let you guys know if it will work. If its too big then i will try something else

whats the difference...the stock honda diff breaks also. if the ford works and does its job their is nothing wrong with it...

How long have you had your car? How much do you know about the s2k? How much do you know about cars? I am sure i know just a little more then you. Why would I go and spend all of this money so something will break??? I have done research, mabye you should too!!! The stock s2k diffs are ****! they are around$4500 and dont make it past 4 hard starts. The ford diff is made for a car that makes over 380rwhp not 195rwhp that you have. I have talked to a junk yard and I am going to have them send me a diff for a non turbo 300zx. The gearing is 410 the turbo is 357. I just need to see if it will hold the power. i will let you guys know asap
I already have parts in the works for one of the other fella's. I doubt very much that your finished kit will be anywhere near 2000 there are to many parts that need to be replaced and fabricated especially using that diff.
As it looks right now the halfshafts will remain the stock length the drivshaft will need to be shortened. I am hoping to have the first unit finished over the next 3-4 weeks. I am using a diff assembly that I know will work from years of use in drag cars. No it's not a 9" ford. When I have the assembly finished I will make it available for anyone else that may be interested. It's not going to be cheap but should be less than an original honda. This is being built for drag/street use with a posi or can be setup with a spool for drag only use.

Bob Kasper has been doing an excellent job on the differential buildup for the s2000. Once the unit is complete it will be a bolt on piece. Bob came very highly recommended from various industry people and race teams. The shop is a little ways pass Great Adventure. We will post pictures of the unit once complete. We will also be working on a replacement transmission later this year...
No I am not related and until the shakedown at etown last year I had never met the fella's from Kasper's corner. They were racing there and I do tech for the all the q8 races at etown. Cream ridge is about 5 miles from great adventure. I am located on rt 539 1.2 miles south of the intersection of rt537 and 539. 524 is the box number. The rear is the chrysler 8 3/4 and not the mustang 8.8. Most guys are looking to take out the 8.8 irs due to failure issues with any kind of real power. The 8.8 would probably work fine for a street rear. The other issue is that the rear is allot wider and I am looking to make the new rear so it will work with the oem halfshafts. The driveshaft will need to be shortened . The 8 3/4 rear was used in many of the mopar musle cars including hemi powered and has proven itself. Once everything is finalized I will post some pics and costs. 'The unit will be available with an auburn pro posi or a spool. I am very busy and appologize for the delay in posting a response.
