Default New diff set up

I talked to a race shop called AutoFab in B-more Md today. They are willing to make a kit for our cars so the damn diffs wont go boom. They would use the 03-04 S/C stang rear and make all of the hardwear that we would need. Anyone NEED or want one? I just want to let then know if they shoul make a kit that would have teh drive shaft, 2 axels and teh rear diff and hardwear

UM no I didnt. More people there are the cheaper it will be. Do you know how much a stock s2k diff is? Around $4200, that will break! So far I can get a rear diff from a s/c mustang for 750 NEW! I was told teh set-up would be around $2000 for custom BUT if more want to do it then the price will drop

$4200 for a stock diff? That's retard.
$2000 for some custom built app where as,
you can get any number of aftermarket diff's for $1200 or less. Not to mention you can get a Spoon complete tranny for $2400.

You are not looking at the real reason teh Diff assy goes to ****. They make the guts of teh diff but NO ONE makes a diff assy. The diff will flex under high load. Then the mount or gear breaks and everything went to hell. When I said it would be around $2000-2500 that is with the new diff assy, drive shaft, and axels. You guys need to look at the pic. If you get better axels then the diff will break, after teh diff teh trans will go. Stop looking for a Band-Aid fix. If you make real power and use it you need to get a stronger assy. Just to let you know where I am comming from. I broke 2 diff, a axel, 1-4 in my trans and I am on my 4th motor. The s2k is a weak car, we just need to help it out

They have about 10 diffrent gear rait. for this diff. It is the 8.8in that goes in the s/c stang and other ford cars. The size is very close to the s2k

just keep hookin us up with the information, i like to see what options i will have.

comptech housing for the diff sucks, and i hear the cyro treatment doesn't do much either for us on the gears...

swapping in a new stronger diff seems to be the only answer it seems, or not to launch...

I dont want a street bike? I had a 996 and got rid of it. I tell people that I have blow that many motors so they understand I am not talking out of my *** when it comes down to racing and having a fast car. I dont blow motors because I have a show car and I drive it like a *****. The only time I will back down from a race is when I am breaking in a new motor. On top of that why would 2 web sites have my car on there if I didnt know what I was doing? Why would I get free parts? You should think before you make a smart *** remark like that. I am not some kid that is talking out of there ***

AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

The girl with the pink eg and mustang light conversions has been on a billion sites, and given millions of parts. And if you weren't relying on a gay *** vafc to tune your turbo motor maybe you would'nt empty your bank account so often

Also My old EK ran an 11.8 all motor and was a daily driver with ac so you ain't really sayin nothing playa!

PS: people KNOW your talking out of your *** when you blown 4 motors not the other way around John notreallyaForce

Dont know about the girl with the eg but hook me up I get free parts, like turbos. Thats great that your car ran a 11.8. Mine would to if it was 1800lbs had slicks,2 step and 13 to 1 comp. Oh and the little problem with the afc, thats taken care of now with the ems and 1000cc or more injectors

glad to see that you guys are working on a solution for the aluminium diff as well
my project is delayed due to the local formula four racing.

BTW why do you use a $750 heavy diff instead of a possibly lighter $150 + cost of oil/bearings s13 diff?

The s2k gearbox will not hold up for drag racing. If you have too much power the teeth on the 2nd gear will strip. If you shift too quick at hihg rpm your synchro's will give up.

http://www.ppgearbox.com.au
made a synchro helical box for my friend s2k. They have my spare gearbox atm for 1-4 dog gears without synchro, 5-6 helical + synchro. IMHO this is the way to go if you have lots of power and use the car for drag/circuit racing.

I think the cost will be around $4500 AUD + freight. If there is enough interest I will start another thread for some sort of GB. The bigger the order the cheaper it will be too.....and the sooner I will get my gears as well

I am new to this forum. Is there any specific policy that I need to know before organising a GB?

I am not sur how much power some people are going to make but for some of us we want over 600+ rwhp. I dont see how a non turbo 300zx rear diff will hold up to that power. The 300zx diff is the same as the s13 and teh R32, non of them make 600rwhp from the factory. The S/C mustang makes around 380rwhp and the same # of Tq from the factory. I want to go with what works, not a name. The $750 for the stang diff is at my cost for the diff housing and the LSD. You canget 7-10 diffrent gear rait fron ford, thats nice

The Ford is probably the best option for those of us in the US. They should be around for years to come and the Ford aftermarket is quite active.
