Default Modding the DRL

Ok you wiring gurus ...

Can someone tell me how I can run the DRL (daytime running lights) at full wattage instead of half as it is now? I got some PIAA Yellow bulbs and would like the yellow to shine more instead of the dull caca color.

Maybe perhaps do something where I can turn the high beams on without having the lowbeams come on?

I dont know ....

Thanks in advanced!!

The thing is though .. I noticed with the HID low beam it takes some of the "yellow" away lol.

I mean you cant really see that its yellow with the blend of white

but you're right at worse ill just run lights all day long!

Someone told me that you'll blow your HIDs though this way .. is it true? How much life do they have?

You're going to blind everyone. I hate when people leave their brights on. I have a 15million candle power spotlight for this reason. I keep it in my GSR. I give the person one flash of my brights for them to turn off their brights. After that, it's 15 million candle power in the retina. THAT gets them to turn their **** off real fast most of the time.

Anyway, I'm sure I could figure it out...but I'd have to have wiring diagrams. And im lazy.

^ thats why I only want to run high beams for the DRL during the day only and regular HID for night driving.

People 'bright flash' me all the time just driving around at night in the S, so I started yellow-high-beaming them back

i dont know if i understand you completely... if my answer sounds stupid just let me know...

instead of hooking them up to your existing lighting harness, why dont you just run a direct line and have a separate switch???

Stock is perfectly fine.

It's sounding like you want to look like all the riced out Civic's and Integra's with their ridiculously bright yellow highs/fogs on.

HIDs have a lifespan of several thousand hours. You would have to run them for 10 hours a day everyday to be worried about burning them out. The average person doesn't even turn on their headlights most days. Running them everyday it would take you many years to burn an HID out, barring something catatrophic.

even during the day a car with its brights on is annoying to me.....maybe because both my cars are lowered, the lights shine right into my mirrors....

the drls are the high beams, the circuit works by using a resistor in the high beam side to cut the voltage to dim the lights. when you turn on your headlights the drls, high beams with the resistor turns off. when you turn on the high beams the resistor is bypassed. by removing the resistor your drls will be the same as your high beams. thats on the canada models, the japan models use a seperate circuit with a different bulb

^ my man .. thx
