Default Launch and burnout...

OK, after reading about diff problems and how to avoid them, I see I'm to avoid "launching" and doing "burnouts". How do you guys define those terms, and what are the differences?

Are you serious? a launch is hard acceleration out of first gear. and a burnout is the same thing but with intended wheel spin. If you feel the need to do such things you should get a mustang or a Grand National.

our car has more than enough hp to do a burnout...rwd is better than fwd for launching

^^^ Seems like every post you've been making lately has been chalk full of "wrong".

Anyways...the S2000 can easily do burnouts...as seen below when we still had ours...(it is important to remember that it does put alot of strain on the diff though if you do it wrong or too much, which is why people suggest NOT doing it...)

...and as far as launching, i guarantee you you'll get a better launch every day of the week with a rear wheel drive car over a front wheel drive car, ESPECIALLY in a car with alot of horsepower.

^^^ Thats what i was saying...and truely, if the car has any legitimate horsepower, the fwd car is going to suck *** in the rain too...i remember boiling the tires off my CL-S back when i had it in the rain with the VSC off...it would literally just spin, and keep spinning, i had the speedo pegged out doing it in tip tronic mode one day (probobly why my tranny broke the 3rd time...hahahaha)

Yes, this is a serious question, I had my own idea of what launch and burnout meant, I was just looking for others opinions on the subject. If I was interested on your opinion on what cars I should buy to do them I would have asked.

Thats a good way to waste a set of tires.

Lots of fun though.

rwd will launch better due to the shift in weight. when you launch the car has a tendency to rock back on the rear tires putting pressure on the tires , on front wheel drive the front tires will slightly lift up due to shift in weight witch causes wheel spin

We were just about to buy a new set of rear tires...i think i did doughnuts with it 3 times in the entire time we had it...and that time was the longest, i wasnt really concerned with tearing the tires up because they were being replaced anyways...then, a few weeks later...she met with a wall.

Yes it was totalled, happened back last September...its been happily replaced by an Infiniti FX...my wife was driving home from work, guy cut her off but clipped the front bumper, she tried to swerve out of the way but when she got hit her foot went to the floor on the throttle (out of panic) then the guy hit the side again and sent her into a wall (picture is in my siggy)...
