Default installations

difficulty in installing a turbo? suspension (tein edfc maybe?)? aem ems? exhaust? i checked around some of the local shops and just to install a turbo kit they charge upwards of 2 grand.... seeing how the kit is only 4.5g's, i would prefer saving myself the extra 2 in installations. anyone have any websites or literature on where i can read up on tuning and fuel mapping?

exhaust will take you about 15 to 30 minutes to swap out... it's only ehhh 6 to 10 bolts.... suspension depends if you get a full coilover set or you go with springs.. however it's still quite easy if you know the basics about suspension.....and the ems... well it's a plug and play.. so you just plug it in and you're done..

the turbo gets quite complicating, caues you got all the oil lines, the vacume hoses, yada yada yada

if you don't know what to do. have someone there to help you and that knows what they're doing.

your first tuner: my advice, do what you can, offer beer to friends that can help you with coilover installation and exhaust installation. AEM EMS tuning along with the turbo installation - leave to the pros, or can you really afford a mistake that will cost you more than $2K? Or leave you wondering if you did something just right? Don't forget, corner weight and alignment will set you back 300-500 on the coilovers. If you don't do it, you will have a car that handles far worse than the stock setup.

My first time I installed anything difficult, I just got a list of all the performance shops in AZ and called and asked 1 question at a time. By the time I got to the end of the list the project was done, and I did it all myself

Turbo installs arent for newbie's and your going to need someone to tune your EMS after its plugged in. Suspension and exhaust you might be able to do yuorself.

suspension can be done by yourself but if your putting springs on stock shocks be careful when u take out the old springs...they do have bit of compression on them and they will shoot out

yea but seriously 2g's on an install for a kit that only costs 4.5g's? I understand the complexity... but seriously i might as well pay someone that knows how to do it and buy all the tools i need.

i understand the tuning part needs quite a bit of knowledge.. but 2g's for a pro maybe a days work... for the amateur maybe a week? that's straight profit and i'm opposed to that. i'd rather throw a whole s2k party for everyone, buy beer, liquor, strippers, and ******, and spend 3g's in the process then pay a couple guys 2g's for something they can do within a day.

someone please give me some better justification than a newbie shouldn't do a turbo... i'd be willing to spend months learning how before i slapped 2g's at someone's face unless there is a really good reason why. what is that reason? if i was rich i might say otherwise... but until i make bill gate's cash no way i'm dropping 2g's for an install.
