damn headerwrap stains. im gonna get this thing nitride coated inside and out. damn i have my work cut out for me. i saw the gold S2000 yesterday, apparently it was the original owner for the 128k miles (commuter hwy miles) it has a bent axle from being dumped on tein flex (he didn't get axle spacers until after) but it drives fine as-is.
Work VS-XX, safety21?(the black one) 6point roll cage, Fujitsubo Legalis dual exh, no-name strut bar. overall a very normal and clean car. the only part thats deterring me is that the VS-XX on stock suspension rubbed the fender and took out a nice chunk of paint on the fender and a little knick on the clearcoat on the rear quarter panel.
VS-XX are curbed as well

Having that mani coated made me think of something. If you get a turbo kit and have say the manifold or down pipe or whatever ceramic coated, would that be better than doing the heat wrap and such? Or would it decrease performance or anything bad? Probably a dumb question but if I were to do a turbo kit i was gonna look into having that done. Especially since seeing the pictures of that one turbo S2k that caught fire. It would make me feel better than just having a heat shield or something made

Engine bay is the only thing not painted, jams were painted. the trunk probably isn't painted but I forgot, my attention went to the BYS spoiler ![Tongue](https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emsmilep.gif)
the VS-XX are curbed beyond a simple polish, there's enough gashing to take out a little bit of the lip. A shop could definitely fix it, but i'd imagine it'd be 100$ per wheel to fix/repolish. I like making informed decisions and I also like my investments holding up![Happy](https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emsmile.gif)
brandon- you can do both, for manifolds they (everyone who's done it before) advise to coat the inside only or to coat both inside and outside, but never the outside only. By only coating the outside, it traps the heat inside the runners and eventually that'll cause cracks and all that junk.
wrapping the manifold on top of nitride will still work, and I intend to do that as well. I think Phil built his car to his own style of driving which probably contributed to the problem. People like myself anticipate for extended trips or whatever in highHP cars, so I'd for sure take some preventative measures. On his specific setup I would have relocated everything away from the inferno manifold.
Another useful heat-reducing mod is thsoe nifty little turbo-jackets. They're made of whatever ungodly fibers and they work. Turbines like being hot, so its all bueno

After reading some of the recent moronic posts in this forum, I think I'm going to start making user names on evo/350z/m3 forums and posting the most absurd **** just so people in those forums can get a good chuckle in at work like I just did to the kid asking about civic suspension on an S.
