sup everyone, just wanted to say hi to everyone ands get a lil advise before i buy my s2k. My next door neighbor is the president of the san gabriel blah bah blah wild blah blah pony club. Hes always tellin me how I should get a cobra instead of my soon to be sk2 and im not hearing it...I use to drive a '91 300zxtt and '95 jg built turbo 4 door integra (special edition) so im very fimilair with the forced induction route. I want my s2k to beat his pos stang and im considering the use of the lil blue bottle to assist. I dont wanna spend mega bucks on internals so im thinking about a 50 shot. I was wondering if anyone has any experince/advice with nos setups on s2k's. Appriciate all the help -thanks

 

I'm thinking you could get a better car for acceleration. The S2K has great acceleration but a built 'Stang can be done cheap but damn quick. Now if you want to turn a corner then you've got a huge advantage. That's where the S2K shines.

 

the Cobra is a very competent car both on the drag strip and on the track.

Good luck since the president of the pony club probally has a few mods on his own Cobra.

but I think you need one of them superchargers.

 

You want to beat his "p.o.s. Stang" in what way? Please don't buy an S2000 and try to drag race it, buy a Supra or RX-7 instead. If you really want info on nitrous setups, go to http://www.s2ki.com. You'll find a bunch of stuff there, and i'm sure there's at least one person there that can help you.

And just to reitterate what Kelvin96GSR said - you're neighbor, being that he is the president of the club, probably has a pretty fast Cobra.

 

I agree 100% with S2Thizzle the S2K is not ment to be a drag car.

 

thanks for the feedback so far...his "cobra" is actually a gt with gt40 heads, exhaust, filter, etc....hes done alot of work to suspension handling department so my goal is to beat him pretty much in every aspect especially in the road course area...i do want the squeeze so i can back it up on the street if i have to, i would love to get that sc but i dont have the extra 5g's or so but if anyone would like to donate one to my noble cause it would be greatly appricated ... ill try to keep everyone updated on this lil project of mines hehheh and hopefully get some nice pics of me taking him on the inside

 

Buy a used Comptech SC: the going rate is in the $3000-3500 range.

Stock for stock the s2k will beat the GT in a straight line. He can make all the mods in the world but he'll only be fast a track with experience. Same goes for you.

save it for the track, don't use NOS.

You can beat his car with a bat. It sure will be a pos then. As for racing him, you should get 150-200 shot direct port nitrous to beat him in the straight line. At the road course, all you need probably is driving skills and race tires. Good luck.

50 shot is too little anything can handle a 50 shot ......try atleast 75 or 100........150 is pushing it but you should use an s/c thought & and the bottle you can beat that piece of s&%! mustake

I love my GSR, i love imports, but i can still appreciate a well designed car when i see one, and cobra's are well designed cars.

If you want to beat your neighbor, take your 35K and get a 03 Cobra, then you will spank him and eveyone else one the block.

 

i am toying with the idea of getting a 1984 fiero (one for sale in good condition for ~$1000) and dropping a V8 in it.

 

Good luck beating even stock '03 Cobras with even a supercharged S2000. And you may not believe it, but they are also good road course cars, too. But about this guy, he's probably up to about stock f-bodies in acceleration(about 13 flat in the QM) and his handling is probaby better, and a stock f-body poses a big threat to the S2000 on a road course. I don't know what advise to give you, but, this is just my opinion, I hate NAWS, or any nitrous oxide.

You would be amazed how well the new cobras handle. Never knock a car based on the older model. Its the easiest way to have to eat crow...

oh you do realize that he has probably freed up around 50-75 HP depending on his exhaust set up. Shorty headers, Bassani X-pipe and high flow muffs yeild about 45-50 HP then with the intake and heads he freed up alot of power too... You had better punch out that Honda 2000 if you want to take him...

and anytime you think you can beat a mustang, I got one you can run. Its one hell of a POS with 800+ WHP... Big POS though..
