my ap1 engine has 90k miles on it and runs beautifully.
i have a considerable amount of acquaintances that are interested in buying just the engine of my car. its from a 2000 ap1 s2k.
any estimates on how much you'd give for this?

we just blew a rod in one of our s2ks and we just sourced a 40k block and head for 2500. hmotorsonline.com sells an f20 for 3800 with the trans. so i would say about 4k or 5k depending on what all you include in the sale

if hmotors has them for $3800 with trans, why the **** would he be able to sell his for more without a trans???

 

Are we talking about just the long block? Trans? ECU? Harness? Compression #'s?

 

he did say, "depending on what all you include in the sale." so, for a motor, trans, ecu, maybe diff, manifolds, cat, etc, etc, etc. why go through the trouble for $1k? sell a handful of parts with it and make it worth your time.

 

well isn't it obvious that the people who are interested in getting his engine don't know about sh** like hmotorsonline.com :D if they did, then this topic shouldn't even have been created. thus, if my assumption is correct that they just want everything including engine, trans, etc for whatever reason, then he can make a pretty good profit off of it.

and yes, he can include a lot more in the sale than just an engine and tranny that is why i said 4 to 5k, unless you guys just give away items like intake, exhaust and whatever else for free :D

but in all seriousness i got in a wreck and im probably going to end up having to sell this car in parts to make a smart amount of $. i might keep parts off it to fix up another s2k ... blah blah long story. thats just to answer your question about what im gonna do. (missing one headlight, fender, airbags popped, the suspension on the front right is damaged, bumper, but thats all.)

as far as the estimates you guys are giving, yeah i want to make at least 5grand back. so i mean the ECU tranny and engine for up to 4/5k? sounds more than good to me.

You will be LUCKY to get 3k for the 100% complete swap dude. Here is a link to a complete 02 swap with 69k on it for 2300$ and I don't believe it's sold and has been on the market for a month. (it's a good deal IMO)

The trans is worth about 600-700 and the long block would be 2000 max in great condition. Add on the harness and ECU for a few hundred more and you have the going rates...

 

I just found another complete 03 engine for 2300 and an 05 AP2 engine for 3500 shipped.

 

i just found an entire wrecked s2k for 5k..

 

prob looking at 1500-1700$
