sorry it took a sec to reply but it's not worth the time if you don't plan on racing. it took me about 12 hours with basic tools and no helm's manual. the hardest thing is getting to all of the bolts and pins for the panels. keep the rag top with it for easy on and off.

I'll have to add my .02cents. having owned an OEM and currently owning a CF Seibon hardtop. the install very quick and easy. Took me about 30mins to fully install the OEM and about 5mins to install the CF. I personally never liked the fact that the S2000 was a vert.
The oem is quality, but the CF is ****.

$2800 is correct, did them at $2700 shipped for a while but the cost of freight has come up.
We've done about 4 at my dealership and they arent terribly difficult, the instructions are very complete and descriptive, although like others have mentioned getting it aligned perfectly takes a little bit of time. Just FYI hardware is the SAME for all years, only difference is the instructions. Also the 00-01 S2k's require an extra hardware kit if you wish to have the rear defogger($350 extra and still on backorder from Honda ), if anyone needs help PM me

Assuming that since **** are great, the CF hardtop is better than OEM (I am unsure of the meaning of **** in this instance)? Do you feel this way for both fitment and or design?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by tk2068 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I just bought a hardtop two weeks ago and installed it myself. Transporting the hardtop home is a pain since the box is huge (5.5' x 5' x 2') even though it weighs only about 120lbs. So pay somebody to deliver it to your doorstep.
Installation is very easy since the instruction is very clear and the steps involved are simple (if you know how to use a screwdriver, a ratchet, and are unafraid to pull things apart). For somebody who is mechanically-challenged like me, it took me a total of four hours to install.
To me, the most difficult step is to adjust the retainers since I had to hunt those wind noise but my cabin is pretty quiet now. I guess it could have been worse since I have read people complained about having to replace their front strikers due to wind noise so I feel pretty lucky.
The next most difficult step is, like someone mentioned earlier, is to align the the hardtop for the initial install. It is a pain because one has to loosen a total of 8 bolts, seats the hardtop, tighten the bolts, and repeating these steps until the hardtop is aligned properly. The cabin is small so moving around just get that much more difficult.
Now I can take off and put on my hardtop in about five minutes. I have done it a few times. Need two people or you will scratch your paint or worse.

You say your hardtop weighs 120lbs., someone earlier stated that theirs weighed 42lbs.
Is the one that is 120lbs. OEM and the one that is 42lbs. CF?

Yes, the hardtop itself is probably 42-44lbs (never weighed it) but the packaging material is first class. Have never seen thicker/stronger/heavier cardboard packaging material. It was quite hard to dispose of.

I will probably do the same, does it make your exhaust resonate not having any headliner?
