i have 60000 miles and when i go in to third i grind all the way it. this only happens when i am driving hard. i think its a synchronizer, but i dont know if the fluid has been changed, is it possible that this is it. im hoping thats what it is so i dont have to give my car up for a day to a shop. thanks

 

If your syncros are shot, then a fluid change will not correct a bad syncro, but try to change the trans fluid and use a good quality brand, if you're unsure of which brand to use, just go HondaMTF. I've heard people using GM Syncromesh, Redline, and/or a combination of that plus HondaMTF. Good luck bro.

 

I once had a bad 3rd gear grind in a civic. I changed the fluid to gm syncromesh and it went away

 

^^ gm syncromesh is like pepto bismol ... tranny is the achy stomach, and once you put the pepto bismol it'll fade away ROTFLMAO
