getting an s2k..
Well, I'm about to purchase an s2000.. my 99 Si was just owned today on the highway..check the cosmetics forum... time for a new set of wheels anyways...
Im setting aside an additional 5 grand for mods.. what do you think I should go for? do you think a stock s2k can handle a cooled vortech supercharger? I will have my axis se7ens off my civic.. that will probably fit.. and my pioneer dvd player and infinity speakers... but 5k for engine only mods... any ideas? im new to s2000s

Why wouldn't the S2000 be able to handle a Vortech Supercharger? They're made specifically for it. If you want the biggest boost in performance, I'd definitely recommend a supercharger (either Vortech or Comptech). A Speed Craft turbo will be more expensive and much harder to install. As for your wheels, I'm not sure they'd fit on the S2000. What size are the tires? Your DVD player (if it's an in-dash TV/DVD) won't fit, because of the S2000's dashboard configuration. I had a Kenwood KVT-911DVD in-dash TV/DVD player in my Z28, and I had to sell it when I bought my S2000. If you really want an audio/video system in your S2000, you can buy LCDs for the visors. Fahrenheit makes 5-inch LCDs that a few people have already installed. Good luck with everything, and make sure to sign up at http://www.s2ki.com, you'll find the most information and a great community there.

I know the engine can handle it.. but I didn't know if id have to do anything because of the really high compression... the wheels.. those wont fit.. and yeah im trying to sell my dvd for a decent price.. those LCD visors sound pretty nice though.. i'll do that...
on the supercharger note... do you have to take the engine out?.. we dont have anything to lift it out at home.. or at work... so id have to buy something

Depends if you wanna stay N/A or go FI. If you're gonna stay N/A, get the Mugen Header, intake, exhaust, ECU. From what I've read they're the best N/A mods, but will cost $$$$$$.
Keep in mind the S2k is going to be really tough to extract more HP, if you stay N/A. If you wanna make big power with the F20C, get the Comptech or Vortech Supercharger.

I don't have any experience with installing superchargers on the S2000, but I'm pretty sure you don't have to remove the engine. It's just a bolt-on kit. In fact, I've heard of people installing the Comptech Supercharger Kit in 3 hours. These are obviously experienced people. If you're going to install it yourself, I suggest searching for information at http://www.s2ki.com. I believe a few people on that site have done it themselves.

Personally, I think n/a is definitely the way to go. With a supercharger you'll never be able to launch your car or have any kind of fun off the line. It'll be fast as hell from a roll no doubt, but forget launches. I'd recommend going with a single outlet exhaust, mugen header, cams, J's racing 4.77 final drive and the AEM or mugen ECU system. Dastek makes a unichip which is a piggyback for the ECU similar to what hondata does. Unfortunately there is no hondata products for the S yet, but the unichip is just as good from what I hear. If you have enough you can do some head work, and after all these n/a mods you'll run right with a supercharged s2k from 0 - 100. Just be aware that no supercharged S on stock gears has broken 13.3s or so, and an n/a S with the setup i'm talking about will run low 13s all day long. I say go n/a.
