i feel bad for you if the fastest front wheel drive is a delsol. i am sure there are plenty of cars faster.

Australia / New Zealand has the Nitromethane H22 powered Drag Delsol.
There is no S2000 that is quicker than this Delsol in the straightline, then again this is not really a Delsol anymore.
In the relatively modern history of small two seater Hondas, since the 80's, there have been a few cars. The Beat, The CRX-1,2,3 (Delsol) and the S2000.
Considering the origin of the S2000 to the Sxxx (S600,etc) roots versus the Civic Renaissance Project and the Civic roots of the CRX and Third Generation CRX-Delsol, you cannot really compare them.
Stock, the S2000 is much faster than the Delsol VTi/VTEC/SiR in every dimension, but the S2000 is nowhere near as practical as the Delsol. The equation is not always as simple as comparing 240-250hp to 160-170 hp. It's not as simple as saying RWD v FWD. It depends on the application, and both of these cars have adequate and very usable power. The cars behave differently as well, the driver's ability to work with and understand the car is the biggest factor in performance driving. One also needs to remember that the S2000, at least in chronological sense, succeeded the Delsol VTEC/VTi/SiR (EG2/SR-2 platform). It would make sense that such a car would show improvements upon its predecessors.
I happen to drive a Delsol VTEC, and I would like to have an S2000 as well, but as this is pretty much my only vehicle, the S2000 would not be practical at all. Try moving off campus with the S2000, this includes transport of a mountain bike.
In conclusion, I'd like to have both.
I'd actually like to park my Milano Red Delsol VTEC in a three car garage, next to my Milano Red S2000 and Milano Red NSX. If I could, I'd get a Milano Red Beat too.
Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

How in the hell is a tiny *** Del Sol more practical than the S2000.
-Steve (who has seen a del sol pop the rear window out at an auto-x).

Where there is a will there is a (often unsafe and incredibly unpracticle) way
Towel around the rear rollbar/pillars to protect the car and my belt around the front fork/frame assembly for 'security' made for an interesting drive to my new housing location
yup, we do.......ITRs arent much match.....
im not so sure but i think theres a delsol in adelaide who did topspeed about 7.6 i think.....anyway it is faster than any ITR

Well that's pretty damn retarded. I'm sure there are modified Kia's that are faster than both cars mentioned.

Yes, there are some slow del Sols (auto S models), but we're not talking about economy base models here are we??
