Fuel Filter

ok that diagram has a lot of stuff in it could you please tell me what number is near the item you believe to be a fuel filter? I have installed a fuel pump in my car and when I had everything out I didn't see anything that looked like a inline filter.
Well, #1 and #7 BOTH have similar descriptions.
#7 looks to be the filter sock that attaches to the end of the pump, and #1 is on top of the pump...?
OK yes number 7 is the sock, number 1 is what the pump "plugs" into if you will. There is a hole in the bottom that the fuel pump mounts in. Then the item right below #2 and to the right of #39 is a white clip that is formed in the shap of the bottom of the fuel pump. This clips onto the bottom of #1 and holds the fuel pump in place, now I don't know if #1 is a filter. It could be as the fuel pump plugs into this via a 2in long rubber hose (it is the item between the two #39s), and then the fuel comes out of the top which is the connector you see outside the tank with the quick connect fuel lines. But if it is a filter that is not the only thing that it is, there are a few electrical connections on it too, as well as the fuel level sensor attaches to it. Why do you need to replace this part?
I don't have to replace anything, I was just wanting to replace the fuel filter, well...b/c.
It's a car with 50k on the ticker and I am going to be pushing alot of fuel through it over the next month and I want everything on the up & up.
W/that said...this means we do not have a fuel filter aside from the fuel pump sock?

Well if you are taking it out to do install a Walbro 255 fuel pump you will want to do the sock. Seeing as the part is only about 50 bucks you could change it out any way and not worry about any "what ifs". When I had mine out it looked like a mounting assembly with the electrical connections running from the top to the stuff inside like the fuel level sensor and pump power. I can look and see if I took a picture of it when I had it out, as I tend to do that before I take anything apart.
im on this forum for information. i have not done much maintenance on hondas and so im joining up on here with a ton of questions, thanks for welcoming me and thanks for the info about the filter
