eBay cat-back??
I know many of you will say "duh, dont get that crap." But for $175.00 shipped are the generic stainless steel duel n1 style catbacks worth it? At least for temporary?
haha. thanks, anyway i continued looking and saw Invidia for less than $700 shipped. Thats not bad... I just kept seeing Js, Fujitsubo, HKS and Greddy for like $1,500+ thats too much for my blood. What do you guys think of Inivida?

ooo good advice.. I was def gonna eventually do the entire exhaust system.. And i'm gettin older, no need for window cracking noise, especially since the car is loud stock!
if you think it's loud(ish) stock, then go for something like the HKS as it's similar to stock at idle, but screams like a banshee at WOT in VTEC. y0
or just mess around with the mufflers for now to get the sound better - i heard an AP1 last week with just replacement cans (no idea of the brand sorry), and it sounded pretty damn good suprisingly

So your sayin pop on some axel backs? I mean the stock piping on the s2k is frickin awesome.. Never had a car w stainless steel pipes that were a fair size. Usually cast iron with like a 1.8'' or so diameter. Maybe ill try that
the OEM mufflers are pretty heavy too, so there's a bit of weight saving. I would only do this as a temporary cheap measure, but you never know, you might like it..
if u think stock is loud then ur fuked esp if u go single thats where all the gains are at. and u cant really do an axle back unless ur down for welding, the stock system is one piece all the way back to the cat. what i would recommend if u want more grunt is keep the stock catback but do a header and tp the s sounds so so so so so sexy that way. when my buddy club specIII broke i put the stocker back on but still had the buddy club header and berk tp and it sound freakin legit. just my .02
I just looked before i saw your post and ya haha no axleback choice.. No worries... So is it true that going single yeilds the largest hp/tq gain?? I'm down to do that if it actually makes a difference.. In that case what do ya'll think about Megan's single "drift spec" one on ebay? I know Megan isn't highest quality but i've had their header on my Nissan and it worked fine..

if you put your title into google, you'll get some hits.
i've READ that the ebay exhaust hangs down too low and bottoms out all the time for the s2000, that thread has pics included, go find it :D

Going single is going to be a lot louder / annoying [note: my opinion] than any dual setup. But as far as what you're looking for I can't be much help as I went slightly the more expensive route. The Invidia v4 (q300?) seems to be a popular choice among the lower-budget options.
don;t stress about gains on your exhaust too much - think more in terms of long term goals (boost etc.), sound, weight reduction etc. etc. Performance gains are minimal on most after market exhausts on this car.
x3 - Especially after reading the intake thread, though an intake is a different story (it's a tube). But why even buy these cheap parts that are going to more than likely lose power and/or gain none? You say you don't have money to spend (waste), but you're doing just that. *shrug*
