drive-by-wire = for me. I don't need any electronic gizzmo's to "compensate" for any driver error. I do just fine.

Why don't you actually try driving one before you pan it?

actually there are quite a bit of reviews already on the S2k DBW and all of them report no lag and the inablilty to notice any difference between the DBW system vs the throttle cable setup in the previous year(s) s2000

I think the VSA would be more noticeable than the DBW. They did refine it on the NSX for a couple years afterall.

thats not what motortrend and car/driver said...both of their testers noticed the lag but said it only affected launching. for normal driving, it may cause a .0xx delay

go check on s2ki, a few 00-05 owners have tested the 06 and said the same.. i trust their opinion more since they have more experience in the 00-05's than some car tester would

were they people who upgraded or bought an 06 as their first S?

<--still waiting for the dealership to have an 06 that isn't sold already so he can test drive it

personally I have more confidence in a well engineering mechanical part as opposed to an electronic part. Anyone ever drive a car with dbw brakes? Takes a lot of getting used to.

My FX35 has dbw...and its a little weird when you mash the throttle and the car is trying to keep up with your actions...for days i thought something was wrong with it, but then realized that it was just the computer trying to decide how much throttle i was giving the car...and then doing it, with a little lag in between, it gets annoying sometimes.

Ive heard some people say the 2006 is no different, and ive heard some say that they noticed it without question...so im just gonna drive one myself to see how it is, based on my infiniti though, im concerned.

drive by wire sucks, i know i drive one.. throttle response is horrible, If the ecu feels like it needs to close it, it will even if your WOT. I know i would never by a DBW car
