crack in windshield (need help)
ehh a rock hit my windshield and left a crack in it... it's rather small but i dont want it to spread and spiderweb out.. any info?? on what i can do??
I have had a small crack in my windshield about the size of an eraser head for about 15k miles now and it hasn't spread. Unless someone chimes in and says its unsafe for one reason or another I wouldn't worry about it.

actually a lot of places will take insurance for just plain filling it in... before it spreads.

so will super glue. Becareful not to press on it as the crack will spread. Rapid changes in temperature such as getting cold water on it on a really hot day (washing car in 100F+ temps) might make the crack spread. Also, if you track your car, it might spread as well. I've got 2 spider chips in mine from following too closely as a dude when off track.

so just put some clear nail polish over it?? humm.... never thought of that... how much do you think it'll cost to get it filled in at a place???

If the crack is within the line of sight - there is a section of the windshield directly in front of you (i.e. your field of vision) - then your insurance company will not pay to have the crack repaired. They will instead pay to have your entire windshield replaced. You'll have to find someone to do it on the side if the crack is in your field of vision.
That's the law in VA & TN however, could be different where you are from.

the nail polish or crazy glue will only prevent it from spreading. That's it. Like I said, you can do this yourself.
