They're not all that expensive anyways. Make sure it fits your intake set up, or else it's worthless.

the Spoon air duct directs airflow into the air box.

The cooling plates direct more air through the radiatior to help the cooling process.

You can get plates that do both. I will sell you my aluminum one if you want.

Yep.

If you look at the aluminum one (that I happen to have for sale), it does both as well, just not quite like that CF on. This aluminum one just has a channel that helps direct air to the airbox; it doesn't mate up to it though.

They also make an aluminun plate that works with the spoon snorkel so you can have the benefits of both

I used to have an ARC intake w/a Garage Defend cooling plate. This combo worked pretty well with the intake. It also mates up with the stock air box

I have the Carbon AUT Cooling Plate

I plan on doing the K&N intake system, and making some sort of panel to alow better flow from the cooling plate to the intake

^^

did you have any trouble shutting your hood? I see you left the OE metal piece on there. When I put my CF cooling plate on I didn't put the metal plate back on. I just put the weather stripping on the CF plate. Seems to be ok.
