Default Comptech Intake?(Alignment issue)

Like the title says. Im having trouble lining up the Comptech box on my 00' S2000. The intake fits fine as well as the 3 bolts to secure the box. My problem as you can see in the photo is that the rod that holds the hood up is about a 1/4 of an inch off. I have to FORCE the rod into the slot. Has anyone else had this issue? Did you end up drilling new holes to move the box forward? Any help is appreciated!

This is the slot I am referring to...

Box with hood rod down. I did shave the end of the rod as comptech stated.

Thanks for any help.

None of the hood props fit through the Comptech intake hole. Everyone has the same problem. I bent the hood prop and shaved it down a bit to fit better, but still not perfect. As Cwest said, I got Tein hood dampers now.

can either get a dremel and widen it, or get hood dampers. lastly you can just not use your hood prop, but eh*shrugs*

Good idea. I have this problem, but I just deal with it and have for several years. I think I got in on the second batch of these CAIs early on.

Yeah I found it to be the easiest way, I didn't want to shave the prop, so the lid was a no brainer.
