Looking for some insight on this header only. Dyno sheets, butt dyno's, quality, welds, absolutely anything.

I got a great offer on a used one, so i'm looking into it.

Lets keep out the omg no header, adding a header doesn't add power, go with a sc all of that crap. I would like to go intake/exhaust/header/AEM EMS and call it a day with the power, because i like the traditional feel of the car as it is.

Also, if it helps, at this current time I have an ARC intake, and plan on going either HKS dual or T1R dual when I get an exhaust.

Also, flame what you want for not searching, but spent 25 minutes doing so and god it sucks sorting out quality posts from people just complaing about the money on a header and should go sc.

In most cases, I would have to agree, just $$ is tight, and before I even throw it on my car, want to make sure it's a good piece. Back with my Type R, comptech was one of the best around, but I'm not sure about s2k's with them.

And the heatsoak, yeah yeah yeah

your intake is junk, there's no point in getting a header, and if money is tight, you shouldn't be spending it on a car.....

 

i say go for it
comptech is a good company which acts as a mugen type in the states for honda/acura platforms, so you can't go wrong with a cheap valued comptech part.

if you don't want it give me some info and i'll pick it up

Go with a J's header if you're going to go with I/H/E and AEM EMS. The J's has been proven to give the most gains throughout the powerband.

 

ok really, what gain do you expect to see from a header? it's not like you will really be able to tell the difference besides the tone and loudness of the car. you might SEE it on a dyno sheet, but in day to day driving i doubt it. so if you want to buy a header get it.

 

what about that kid with no header that was a sweet set up I think he got 10000 horse from that alone

ROFL my favorite was the kid with the ap2 header that swore it made 20whp over the stock ap1, even though the two manifolds are completely identical.

...Next to Hytech.

The Hytech header is the best header on the market, and does amazing with just a vafc.

But yes, the J's is a very close 2nd best, and easier to come by.

I'm feeling in a nice, helpful mood today . I will find you comptech header dyno charts. It may be considered the best bang for the buck header on the market....rick's is pretty good as well.

If you want more horsepower out of an intake...you need to dump that ARC. It is pure JDM bling, because any hp results it has are negative due to the design allowing a massive amount of heat soak. The best intake on the Market is quite possible the J's, but i haven't seen one of the more expensive ($2,000+) Intakes for the S2000 ever tested.

Once again, one of the BEST exhaust you can buy...is the J's...Other great exhausts include Amuse and T1R.

first off, asking a question about the quality of header is a very good question. Second, and most importantly, money is tight as far as I can spent on the car. Even if it was tight as far as apartment rent, who the hell are you to say what I should spend my money on? I earned it, you didn't, go do what you want with your and I'll do what the hell I want with mine. third, The ARC intake is not a joke. Give me solid evidence of street driving for the heat soat to be a major issue. Most heat issue's come in regards to track driving, my car see's no track at this point so the ARC meets my needs just great. Please, I've been on honda-tech for some years now, and I know to take everything with a grain of salt, but please take your junk to another threat.

Did comptech actually use the same type design, or are you just reffering to the 4-1, becuase this is solid information.

Honestly, I don't really expect significant results right now, however programmed with an AEM EMS, i would hope it would grant me 5 whp, which i find significant for about 400 bucks on the F22 engine that is like pulling teeth to get some extra power out of.

I realize there are quality parts out there that might be better, however, like noted before, i found a used one for a great price, around half of what it comes new, so i figured if it was a good piece, why not ya know?

When you say best bang for the buck, they come new for around 900..if you could get one for half that, would you say then its a must??
