I hate to thread jack but my maintenance light flashes for about 5 or 6 seconds after all my other lights go off. Is this normal or do I need to take it to the dealership? Sorry for the newbie question but only had the S for about 3 weeks. TIA

When ur maintenance light flashes for 10 senconds it usually means that your car is 2-3,000 miles away from a scheduled maintenance, and should be taken in soon. When it blinks and stays on then it is time for a maintenance checkup.

Well, it doesn't stay on. just blinks for a few seconds and turns off. I just want to make sure the damn thing isn't going to die on me. Specaily when I have only had it for a few weeks.

The car is not smart enough to know when you last changed your oil, hell it wont even give you a damn back rub if you ask for one.

The maint lights just go on at certain intervals

Pull the "back-up" fuse in the driver footwell fuse box will also reset check engine light. This way you don't have to mess with your battery.
