Default cd player installation

Sup guys, yes I used the search button many times and It brought nothing up. I have called up to best buy, circuit city, etc for installation kits to put my jvc cd player in my 03 s2000...the only thing is half of the stores have kits and the other half told me that i do not even need a installation kit for my car, just a wire-ing harness....is this true or do i need a installation kit? They are telling me that i just pull my old one out and put the jvc in....

Will, you do need a wire-ing harness adapter....BUT....You'll lose all your controls on the left side. You would need something like Modifry. It's a control interface unit.

modifry also carries the harness adapter to plug into the stock harness without modifications that include cutting, re-wiring, blah blah. It makes the installation a breeze.

ohhhh and heres a heads up... pop ur center console up before removing the panel that surrounds the CD player... it makes life a lot easier... and when you reinstall the panel, you wont break off any of the tabs either... enjoy... if u have any other questions feel free to ask
