Can an 2004 S2000 be AP1 !??!!
My VIN is JHMAP1?????T2004?? it has the F20C2 engine. The look is like the AP2 2004-2004 model, wheels, headlight, exhaust everything. So does AP refer to the engine or the model ?!

did you ever think that whoever owned it before you changed things to 04+?
there are numerous things AP stands for: angry pencil, arctic poo, **** pain, etc

If the Vin says ap1, it is an ap1. Only way it would be is if they swapped out the Vin for some idiotic reason, which is illegal anyway.
Even if it is a 2004 with a f20, the Vin would still be ap2. Hope you didn't pay the price of an ap2 for an ap1.

OK guys, it seems I have to elaborate for you all to know. I am in Orange County now, I have an S2000 2007 AP2 2.2 you know the rest, and I have another two cars overseas Euro version, one EG6 B16A2, and I just got the S2000 2004 with F20C2 engine on it, and I just wrote the VIN. And I know that until this day, Euro version has 2.0 but the new body look. So it's not that someone changed couple of parts and sold it to me. Now either you guys know about that, or just say, we only know about US market....

JDM Knowledge. Appreciate, exactly what I was waiting for. Another two question if you may:
- This means that until this day 2008 model in Europe (Germany or France) for example has F20C2, so it's still AP1 ??!!
- Also AP2 starting 2004 has Fiber gearbox, does this mean that all model 2004+ has fiber gearbox whether it's AP1 or AP2? since on the German Honda website, it sais fiber.
