Automatic S2000?
nope, it doesn't, and I am unaware of anyone that has outfitted an S2000 with an automatic transmission.
the S2000 is quite a special car, apart from other types in it's range. it's an enthusiast's car, a driver's car, with bare necessities. this is another reason why it only comes in manual.

Exactly. It was made for enthusiasts and is just a ***** to the walls drivers car. [/thread]

perhaps, but this was my thought actually. you don't need to laugh at everyone that asks if the S2000 comes with an automatic or not. some individuals have handicaps that can be overcome through various modifications that tuners are not familiar with.

ok.. most people that are handicapped and actually drive are people that can't walk.... and i know there are mechanisms that allow you to drive if you have an automatic.. yada yada.. i used to work with a guy that used to be a car enthusiest, rode bikes and yada yada.. well he had an accident on his bike and became paralized... well anyways... so i know how the system works and all that stuff.....
but now as it comes to the S.. i mean. if you cant' walk... and you use a wheel chair... how in the world would you get into an s.... it's hard enough for us people that can actually walk to get in and out sometimes.. and on top of that where is the wheelchair going to go??
this car is not for handicapped people.... come to think of it... no roadster is ideal or good for a handicapped person....

of course, without the original poster clarifying his or her situation, we're going out on a limb here. but here's one other scenario for you: my father is a peg leg. he lost his left leg, just below the knee when he was 12 on a bike accident when he was hit by a car. while he can drive standard, it isn't optimal, since he's lifting his entire leg for the clutch instead of moving with the ankle. it is... just another thought to consider.

</TD></TR></TABLE>Haha, I guess I am the idiot to have the first auto trans with an S2000 motor. The race car (2000 Civic Si) we are building has the S2000 motor turned sideways and mounted to a GM FWD auto trans, the same trans that is used in the GM Ecotec drag cars. The motor will run on alky and has a 4 digit whp goal when completed. If it does not run in the 7's at 180+mph, it will be a failure.

having an s2k in automatic is like putting ice cream in the microwave. you'd be nullifying the very purpose, destroying the heart and soul of the engineering that went into that beautiful propullsion unit. its love man! love! don't negate it! : )
It was just a question, who cares if you think it's stupid or not. That's what forums are for, not for busting someones ***** for asking a valid question. What if he has a daughter that doesn't want to drive stick but wants an S2000? or is handicapped.
um.. i think u projected a negative denotation.. not trying to bust his *****, just trying to emphasize that its a easy misconception/ question to ask.. i just figured most people who have an understanding of cars would sort of put two and two together but hey.. im proven wrong every day.. you must forgive the sarcasm of "who are you".. im sure you have customers that just drive you nuts
